Why is no one using Powerful Earthshatter Diamond

I'm about 98% certain a warrior resisted my cheap shot a couple weeks back. So I do think it's "working" to some extent. I will say I have no idea if the rate is actually 5%. I can only remember 1 resisted cheap shot in the last few months of playing rogue. After the game, I immediately jumped on the armory and confirmed he had Tense Unstable Diamond in his helm. On the contrary, I also have one equipped on my Druid, and I don't remember ever resisting a cheap shot (though maybe I wouldn't notice this in the heat of battle).

So I suppose the explanation is one or more of the following.

A) The resist rate is lower than 5%.
B) The number of people with this equipped is low.
C) I'm not observing every resist that's happens (possible, but when the target isn't cs, it really fucks up my plan on rogue so I feel I would notice this).
D) That one Cheap Shot I thought got resisted, didn't actually (maybe something else got resisted and the cs was immune?) and I'm completely out to lunch.

Which is a long way of saying, I think it's working, but maybe not at the stated 5% rate and I'm having a hell of a time confirming.

Thanks i think the 10% one is actually better if it works...i am subbed now so cannot confirm if it works in bgs.

edit: tested it out with a friend, the 10% reduction is real.

love it!
[doublepost=1623122065,1623087810][/doublepost]So i am now wondering why this gem isn't widely used, you can buy it with just 1 honor token.

One of the reasons will be that hardly anyone has equipped a helmet that has a meta slot. BiS is currently the iLvL 28 helmet with one socket, followed by the BC-helmet with 3 sockets. Both have no meta.
Another reason could be that there are classes, e.g. Orcs, that have a passive racial ability that offers 20% stun reduction and this effect cannot be added to such stones. Another reason that comes to mind would be the insignia, which not only allows you to get out instantly from the stunning effects. Depending on the playing style of the player, this is sufficient every 2 minutes ... and on the end ... 10% is not really a lot. Most of the stuns etc have a duration of less than 5 seconds, i.e. you win half a second or less in a random BG ... half a second or less. I almost only play orc and don't notice the 20% in the heat of battle in a BG.

Have a nice day ...
Georg

It's the same as talisman of the breaker... 10% is just ok... especially in pugs where everybody does mega damage anyway and you can get easily gang banged.

smaller the fight 2v2 etc, the better these items are... pug BGs you are just doing less of what you could be with an offensive based buff instead of a defensive one.

I have one in a helm and I just... prefer other set ups. Like, you gotta ask what you're giving up to run that.

Would I give up 10% stun reduction to to run 12 crit? why yes. yes i would. What about 8 more stam AND 13 crit. Done. Not even a question. Would healers give it up to run circle of flame? I certainly hope so. I swapped away from that meta and never even noticed it.

Now, if i was a rogue and enjoyed rogue v rogue duels, this meta gem might have a place

Tell me more about that! I'm a huge fan of stun reduction gems on my healers, and always wondered why more people didn't run with those.
Im probably not the best guy to talk about *why* but healers oom pretty quick in SL so a lot of mid clashes involve healers making sure they are rotating their uses of Circle of Flame because you're not gonna get a chance to drink and the clashes are more-or-less ever lasting.

I remember a couple healers from the guild going into wargames and coming out saying "yea, circle of flame is non-negotiable"

Though you can probably get away with not using it in pugs.

nope you don't need circle for PuGs, period.

the difference in terms of stats may be less than you think (assuming meta gem is 3 stamina inside BGs, I am subbed, cannot confirm)

unsure if there are enough rogues/paladins around to make the meta worthwhile for PuGs, but I will experiment after my game time is up and report back.

I've seen plenty of people running various meta gems. Most seem to pick the reduced stun duration or silence. It's decent but not game changing. Though I'd point out the chart you've posted is a bit misleading. Comparing it to talasite stack isn't quite right, as no decent healer does that. That's especially for hpal since they have so many outs, but really any healer is wasting sockets with talasite, and that will hold true in PUGS or real games.

Circle isn't necessary for PUGs. Truth be told, I only started running it in WGs the last two nights (because I couldn't get it to drop until recently). It's very nice, very useful, but we were getting on fine before. It's more a bit of a time saver. So even in WGs circle isn't as OMGNEED as people say.

For non-cloth healers, thanks to personal loot, am I correct in assuming that such healers would need to run with clothies and get the crown traded to them before subscription time ran out?

Edit: my apologies for the off-topic question.

Yup, you are correct.

or you just zone in with a 60 and enable legacy loot. i have done that on both my druid and paladin, both got it within 10 runs.

i play a lot of PuGs and i don't agree with you.

In fact I had full 2int+2vers gems and I gradually replaced them with talasites one by one (that's more monitoring and testing than spilling out ideas on the forums, you have to admit that)

Do you mind going into this further? Thanks

you zone in together with a 60, use teleporter, kill boss, teleport back, zone out, reset, repeat. literally <2 min a run. your chance of getting the circle is 8% per run.

Hmmm. I don’t doubt that you are not lying but would you mind linking your armory? No judgement here, as long as people are having fun then who really cares unless that’s your thing.
