20s Guide Index and FAQ - Read Before Posting New Threads

Finished my first twink since pre-SL. I let my subscription expire. Now I'm wanting to mix things up after realizing some mistakes, and shortcomings to make a "final draft" if you will. What's the best method for me, someone with one account, to do that?

(Sorry if this isn't the right place, or if it's a dumb question)
I'd assume just pay for 30 days and do my best till it runs out again.
I know I've heard of people using two accounts, but you'd still need two subs to get mail/trade on the other? Any clarification on how I can make this make sense. Especially because I'm going to move servers and buy gold etc. Current server has ZERO twink community. I don't wanna do this again.

If you're already going to server transfer and buy tokens, just go ahead and get a month sub too. That way you can just knock everything out, get a bank full of consumes and alt gear sets and backup enchants/gems/mats whatever and then never have to worry about subbing again.

Yeah I guess there's not a lot of ways around re-subbing.
I think I just don't understand why someone would actively use two accounts then. I thought about paying for time on my FT account to carry and gear my twink, but again unsure if that works like that.

I have no "main" so really I'd make a toon on BH, or KJ and call it a day. I assume both those servers have plenty of AH saturation to supply most your needs.

I have a paid account to have a 60 to carry my F2P when Im too lazy to solo content I need to farm (for instance, I'm currently collecting engi recipes and BRD is just faster with a 60) as well as to provide easy groups, maintain the guild, have a few 24 BOE farmers, warlock summons, etc.

You certainly dont need one. Its just convenient.

They don't actually do anything in PvP, but is there any point in squeezing taunt skills into your keybinds?

1, they do not have GCD, so you can hand of reckoning and crusader strike/judgement at the same time

2, they keep rogue out of stealth

3, they can distract the enemy players

4, they keep enemy players from drinking/eating

4, they barely cost anything and are on a relatively short CD.

here is the paladin one (even holy paladins have this ability!)

Its useful to have access to if you have the BG awareness to actually use it for those scenarios you listed. Plus you can taunt pets if you are gonna get trapped/sheeped to try and have them break the CC

Not sure if it works now but back in WoD/MoP taunt would break rogues out of stealth if you can spot their silhouette and quickly target them for classes like warrior who cant do anything other than auto attack from 0 rage (or mortal strike but that is melee range)

I wouldn’t bind it to other abilities, as Kaxle says it can be very useful.

Great for keeping pets off a kill target or your FC for example. Remember pets also have abilities like ms, slows, interrupts, seduction etc. Even keeping pets off casters to save them from knockback.
Other situational scenarios could be your healer that is trying to leave combat to drink or rogue/druid looking for re-stealth. Or keeping enemy rogue in combat that is out of range.

It can also proc crusader for strength classes.

I always try to use it on fleeing targets, as to keep them in combat and prevent them from mounting (but I am not sure it actually stills prolonges or put you in combat).

Also, didn't know Taunt could pull pets from their targets! Really cool trick even at max level potentially.

it can prob proc others too eh? i feel that i now have to bind it for maximum performance.

by the same token, warriors who don't use taunt in pvp are just unconsciously being sub-optimal.

Any hunter with actual pet control probably wont be bothered by your taun....so only like 2-3 of the entire population won't fall for taunt breaking freezing traps.

Is there a profession that gives at least 10 stam?

I am thinking of dropping alchemy because 9 int isn't really that much.

I also cannot use any elixir when flask is on.

Northrend JC 2x slot trinkets would net you the highest stam with talasite. I think it’s 3 stam over pit fighter.

edit. Join the discord

The jc trinks give highest stam and there is one w a movement active you might like.
[doublepost=1623425446,1623424516][/doublepost]For your playstyle I would think about using the alchemy trunk w the potion belt it heals for a ton.

Hey guys. I was planning to get back into twinking but I haven't played in years. I had a bunch of questions but thought they might be too basic for a separate thread. Last time I twinked was f2p in Cata/MoP, so I'm really out of touch.

What server should I roll on EU, for a community? I heard AD for ally. What about Horde?

How long are queues usually? And do BG's still pop 24/7 (on EU)?

Are warriors viable? lol

If I start off f2p, is it still possible for me to get Vet bonuses later on if I decide to sub? Or will I miss out on stuff if the char doesn't start off as Vet?

Servers a really spread out, theres no community in the way that it used to be because of battle.net and cross realm stuff being so expansive now.

1 second to 10 minutes. I havent tried queueing at the ungodly hours so idk, but its always popped when I want a pop.

Warrior is more than viable because crusader doesn't scale.

It's not possible to go from f2p to vet. If you hit 20 as f2p, going vet is going to level you up, because of a mechanism called banked xp. There differences between vet and f2p arent very big these days though some f2p stuff is going to take alot of effort and it's gonna be hell unless you make a DK on earthern ring back in the days.

I heard about all the cross-realm changes. That's interesting, though. A lot of the fun in f2p was the community aspect. Would you have any server suggestions for Horde at all? Cuz I'm blank.

Does 1 faction win more often? Cuz I'd prefer contributing to the losing side. Great to hear warriors are doing well!

And thanks for the heads up about banked xp. I'll probably start off with a f2p and just roll a new Vet char if I ever get sub again.
