TBC Classic - Mount at lvl 30? 39s ruined?

okay so apparently MrGM asked about if they will have mount requirement down to lvl 30 as if it was in patch 2.4.3

the blizzard head employee wasn't sure if it's in there, but he said they're focusing on improving leveling and wouldn't mind to be in the game if the 2.4.3 database they are using have it available

What's your opinion on it for the 39s bracket? I personally think mounts completely ruin WSG since you can just outrun the flag carrier with your mount. I thought 39s would be "the thing" for TBC twinking, but this might change some stuff

Whoa, hang on, they're going to instill later patch changes earlier in TBC? My first question would be if combining spell damage and spell healing into spell power counts as "quality of life", because that was the reason they originally changed it 2.4 iirc.

Back on topic, mounts at 30 does significantly change how the bracket will play, but I'm not opposed to it. 29s will still lack mounts, and still differ from 19s, so we have options.

I posted patch notes for TBC in a different part of this forum and the patch notes do indeed indicate that mounts are available from level 30.

Didn't they do the same for Classic Vanilla? Iirc we have played with patch 1.12 or something since release

I don't think it will ruin 39's but it's for sure meta changing and not a change for the better imo. Many long time 39's players think wotlk was peak for 39's and that obviously had mounts as well. Personally, flag carrier increased damage debuff and some of the terrain changes are more disgusting to me than mounts.

better never than late but
60% mounts even at 1.5s cast are fine. 100% (at 1.5) is where it gets problematic.
then again, that's probably a matter of preference - back to 29s it is if you dont like the new meta i guess

Yes, and considering that 2.4.3 was the best patch for TBC (just like 1.12 was the best patch for classic), this is hardly a surprise. They will probably do what they initially did with classic as well, which is gate a few items in the beginning to at least have some sort of timely progression (raids as well of course, but that's a given), but the overall patch will otherwise be the same.

I can also see a few tweaks be made to TBC like they did with classic. It's not gonna be like the original game back in the day.

Im not happy about it. I purposefully rolled 39 druid, sham, and hunter back in the day and in Classic for the speed. Huge nerf to those classes. Helps my lock tho@least.

From my classic experience at 39s, the bracket plays pretty similarly with or without mounts. I personally wouldn’t be worried until that one expansion where everything got flipped around and my mage didn’t eve have mana shield lol

arena focus = euphemism = bracket's dead, no pops :NotLikeThis: :PepeHands:

I think most people will sit in q for wsg and an arena. Arenas will pop much faster and be more competitive, since we won't have pugs to deal with. I'll still be playing as much gulch as I can but arenas are going to be where the quick competitive action goes down.

Def looking forward to arenas. Great way to pass the time in Qs. We should get some tournaments going.

[doublepost=1618070956][/doublepost]Sounds like this is the time to get cross race mounts. Come BC u will have to get exalted. Apparently if you have the mounts in twinks inventory it will teach you riding for free. Ive alrdy confirmed that even lvl 1s can currently buy and mail mounts for their given race.

care to explain how you trade it?

You can just mail the mounts to twinks of a different race, then just make sure you have in inventory for the BC launch

You can also put the mounts on AH in case you want mounts on Dranei or Belf. Just make sure you put it high enough that noone other then you buy them (yes, you lose AH fee at I think 5%). Never bought an auction from one of my other characters so I guess check if that's possible first, alternatively make a friend post the mount.

You can also buy other faction mounts, but they all require xx race and in wrath "alliance" or "horde". Think Ill buy one for lols

Unless things changed you cannot purchase an auction that you posted up from the same account, irrespective of the character you're currently on.
