Stat Stacking

What has been your experience stacking certain stats in a build? I've heard forks discuss haste builds in treads before, what have they been like to play in comparison to a more balanced build? I am currently working on a crit build https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/us/bleeding-hollow/kottekk that is up to 57% crit. Still need the helm from crypts. Haven't tried it out yet as I am waiting for my sub to expire so I can bg que but hoping it will be fun critting Aimed shots a majority of times. Farming dung gear with it has been fun. I could squeeze some more crit in there with more Decimator gear but didn't want to overload too much at a sacrifice to my base agi output. Anyone else mess with a crit build, or any other Stat Stack build before?

Not exactly on topic, but since you're stacking you could toy with https://www.wowhead.com/item=111948/gruuks-evil-eye?bonus=6691 if you got it. I think it's around 70 crit rating. Have read here that it lasts 40 secs in BGs? Havent tested it myself but could be a good addition to your project.

You're already into the diminishing returns on crit so that's a thing (not huge tho) to be aware of. Smarter people than I explained it very well here: https://xpoff.com/threads/are-the-new-diminishing-returns-actually-working.95564/

ive been stacking crit but im wary of stacking too much crit due to the diminishing returns after 30%, i might start stacking str+ stam too after like 31% or smth

Thanks heaps, cheers

How much crit do you lose in a BG? I know mastery is around 16% which is bonkers high from world/BG.

I've only stacked Mastery on 2 toons a MistWeaver Monk because Gust of Winds is busted good, I tried it on a Resto Shaman, but its just not as good because deep heals is situational... but again you lose 16% when its show time.

Is anyone vers stacking? I was thinking of doing a versatility cat druid for flag carrying.

It has the worst return on investment. As with most Flag Carriers I would just check the armory as they are mass stacking HP and socketing every single gem then can with Steady Talasites.

It may get better if talasites ever get fixed. Worth keeping in mind instead of just dismissing due to broken items.

edit- and for slots where you cannot stack broken stam there would be far greater "return" in focusing it there...

I think it was @Znu who had/has a full adaptable socket set on a druid. Why not just do both? xd

Nobody meant stack mastery or any other stat instead of versatility… the math clearly shows that versatility has the worst point for point return, that was all that was said... and it was said clearly in the context of it compared to effective HP.

I guess it just depends on where you stand on effective HP versus versatility. To me I'd rather heal somebody that stacked HP and did not give up 1000+ HP so they could have 22% versatility and instead of 11%.

To me stacking effective HP = better than versatility (in the capacity of just being a big tank). If versatility was full % reduction and not half, sure it would be a different story.

FACT: When you stack HP to the max you can you are just taking the stats that are on the existing BC/other gear tho(you get lucky with some on verse/some dont)... you are not choosing them, like you can with I28 greens.

From the tone of the thread stacking was referring to going all out on a stat.
