Best scope for a 19 hunter bow

II tried getting a hiigh lvl to attach Sniper Scope to my venomstrike in will not be traded but it wouldn't allow it.

Each scope has an item level requirement. So you can only attach the level 20 scopes (which have a level 20 item level requirement).
+3 is indeed the best scope you can get, have it attached via will not be traded by a level 20+ character.

in what world does plunder beat venomstrike or timmy with engi ammo

Going off of this thread (and i'll be clear that I really don't know the calculations at all, so i'm dependent on what is given here) it looks like plunder narrowly beats out Timmy's.

https://xpoff.com/threads/19-hunter-ranged-bis-analysis.91118/

One assumption that the thread makes is that the hunter has 100 ranged AP (which is very low). Another thing that's tough to calc is multishot procs on venomstrike so *shrug*.

Assuming the calculation is correct, once you crank up the AP the Bow of Plunder looks to be clearly better.

That calculation just straight up ignores the ammo difference for some reason despite mentioning it at the bottom of the post. Makes no sense.

If you account for ammo Timmy's "score" is 58.77, Plunder's 57.17.

It also compares damage per hit instead of DPS so any comparison made with Venomstrike is worthless.

Adding more AP wouldn't change anything either because AP doesn't scale with weapon DPS. The difference will stay the same.

Again, i'm not sure if this is the right order of operations but...

First the OP calculates the white damage DPS for each weapon (then proc dps in venomstrikes case). Since the ammo says "4.5/3.5 Damage per second", that is why the ammo is added in as the last step.

Can you explain how you got to the new 58.77 "score" for Timmy's? I plugged in the ammo dps a couple of ways and couldn't get to that number for some reason.

First off, they used this formula 'base_weapon_damage + Weapon speed * AP/14' so they calculated the damage per hit, not the DPS. DPS would simply be 'weapon DPS + AP/14'.

Now if we use that formula for Timmy's with 100 AP we have '28.5 + 2.6 * 100/14 = 47.07'. That is the "score" they used to compare the weapons. As you can see we haven't used ammo at all in this calculation. To do that we use '2.6 * 4.5 = 11.7' (weapon speed * ammo DPS). Now we add that to the weapon's damage: 47.07 + 11.7 = 58.77.

If we do the same for Bow of Plunder we only get an ammo contribution of '2.6 * 3.5 = 9.1' therefore '48.07 + 9.1 = 57.17'.

As we can see the difference in ammunition more than makes up for the lower base DPS of Timmy's.
