Which class is needed more

Hey all. I'm finally breaking down and making a 19 twink. It's a tossup between priest/mage/lock. I have all the blue gear i acquired months ago before I started playing retail again. I see some people hating on mages so I don't know if one is a good idea. I do have experience playing priest and mages though. If it helps any I am on the mankrik realm and will be playing horde. Thank you in advance for any input.
 
Just make what you want. Mages hit like wet noodles if you aren't fire glass cannon but the CC is so aggravating and any good mage can control and manipulate the game in their favor.

But if you're wanting something that isn't many around then go lock.
 
Paladin and shaman.

Unless you just want to faceroll free kills and have a boring time in every bg.. (Mage)
 
Warlocks have a low representation but I find them a bit boring.

Priest and mages are fun classes to play but probably on the overrepresented side for Horde.

While not on your list, shamans are also very fun and not overplayed.

I 2nd this. Shaman is just a sweet sweet class. Especially if you max out on fire spell power. Tanky af. Can offheal quite well.. and Dps aint too bad with budget gear even.
 
Are hunters op in classic the same as now?

Thank you all for the responses. I made both a priest and a mage. Figured if I get pissed off in a bg as heals I'll just log in on mage and sheep people to death. Lol! Cya in the batttlefields.
