It would be better if you have an already existing unsubbed account to character transfer your vet to, so you can play faster.

if not, you can get everything ready, sub the account, move the character, ask for the time to be moved to your other account within 1-2 days of buying it

My whole point is that you should try to avoid waiting a full month for the vet sub to run out if you are just looking for gameplay before SL changes. With that said you don’t need to be bis, farmed epics etc, no need for every enchant glitch. Better to just get able to queue ASAP

Realistically you can gear a vet in like 2-4 hrs (depending on spec and the BoEs you have) with a token's gold or less. Not much to lose. Yes, SL is around the corner, but around the corner is November (October most likely for pre-patch.) If you want something to kill the 2 months of time, then do it.

As others have said - its around the corner but around the corner is months away. Probably worth it - I pulled the trigger on doing it recently in the last few days. As others have said, depending on what you're buying, you can get a fully geared character with a token or less but it of course depends what class/what gear. Depends on the items though, i've sold some things that have definitely retained most of their value. PM if you want to buy some twink items i'll have for sale for the next 12 hours or so. I have something close to a decent full set for some things.

I'd also suggest picking your server carefully based on where gear is available and how much help you expect from other players. As well as whether you're going to have time make a DK/DH on that server if you have no main and need to farm mats yourself due to just lack of supply or someone roleplaying monopoly man trying to extort you.

Druid/Resto shaman seem like you can gear them relatively cheaply

I would argue against it taking a couple of months, I don't know anything from certain as well but its 3 weeks from now till Cape corruption reaches its cap in endgame, which means prepatch will be in ~1month, prob +(10-20days).

Which puts you right at October...

Personally for me, seeing how big the changes are in ptr I don't think its worth it to gear one up if you haven't already. The easiest route I think would be to just use Arcane mage + heirloom/quest gear until prepatch. You may not be BiS but you won't have to gear up only to replace it fairly quickly.

imagine full gearing a character till october, then having to regear again, no.(imo at least)
When was the last time you made a vet? You know how cheap, easy, and fast they are to put together? Especially if you're a druid or rsham and more than half your gear comes from dungeons / BoEs. Nothing to really lose unless you consider a like, 50k gold investment (and that's probably on a realm like BH it's cheaper elsewhere I'd imagine, we generally gear people on KT for about 20k each) a lot of money, which it's not. Helps kill some time until SL.

Which, again, is months away. If you have something better to do until that time, hell yeah. Otherwise, there's not much if anything to lose.

I built my latest twink in an afternoon. It's not BIS by any measure but its got good enough gear to have fun on and if thats all you're going to need to then get ready for SL

In fact, I'd argue that now is the time to built your vet *instead* of waiting. There's always the possibility that vet accounts start banking XP in SL and that complicates the gearing and account transfer process a bit. Best to just have that out of the way.

Ah i see, i was imagining farming those boe epics which in bh i saw for 200+k, I occasionally play my druid here and then, never went full bis tho, just because of the farm time. But i mean, if u have nthn better to do, and just want to q bgs, have at it, should do the time killin

Epics are overrated and unnecessary. Even the absolute BiS epics like Foreman's and Boarhides, you can just run BG blue pants instead and be just fine.

The difference between a totally insane geared toon that dropped 1m+ on epics and 28s and trade glitches and rerolled their toon 1000 times for the perfect epics and someone who's rocking blues and greens is hilariously miniscule (minus zan belt tinker, that's really the only big thing I'd go for, even then, I know more people that play without it than with it.) Enchants are kind of what rule the bracket atm for the most part and as long as you have those you cant really go wrong.
