EU+US Survival hunt question

Hey so I rerolled for the epic 2H spear from EF but was wondering, what weapon enchant do I want on that? the +3 weapon dmg or +10 agil?

Plus do survival hunters still make use of weapon switching to 1handers?

I use x2 1h with ele for range, and 2h with Agi for melee ^_^

I like it more then just using a 2h

+3 wep damage makes you do more damage and +10 agil makes your pets do more damage I'm pretty sure, I'm not super experienced with survival.

+3 weapon damage just barely pulls out ahead of +10 agil to my knowledge.

You'll want +3 damage.

I tested a bunch of different enchant set ups and ever since ele got nerfed, its really not great, even dual wielding for ranged dot poke. Dual ele obviously outpaces 2hander with ele in that regard but thats it.

It takes maintaining a perfect, uninterrupted dot rotation on at least 4 targets (and that includes getting bomb on those four targets) for ele force to even be in range of +3 damage and +10 agi. Not a situation you're ever going to find yourself in.

+3 weapon damage and +10 agi are pretty similar DPS. I did a bunch of different rotations and such just trying to build a large sample size to say which one is best, but its really a coin flip. But weapon damage gets the nod from me because the +10 agi gets more of its output by increasing your pets damage. Since pets cant be on multiple targets and you often use them for slows as much as damage, +3 weapon damage is choice.

All that said, my hunter has +10 agi because I got a sick staff and didnt have game time to put weapon damage on it. And she does just fine.

Edit: Dammit, Ohti always in here with the quicker and more concise answer.

Thank you for such the detailed answer!

In regards to pets, what are the best options? - I'm completely new to hunter in general so I don't have a clue what im looking for etc.

Are you saying its not worth weapon swapping then and just keeping my 2H with +3 weapon damage?

Hydras give you mortal strike, a 5% stam buff and for some reason their defensive CD works. Hyenas give you MS and a move speed boost. Tall striders give you a slow that druids cant shift out of. I have all three, but really just run the hyena because it looks cool and I like running fast.

Yup. I mean, its cool to have dual ele for super swag but yea, its lower damage output. Ill do it sometimes just for giggles though.
