A list of Legion and BFA zone buffs to gain the upper hand in WPvP

Hi everyone. I thought it would be a good idea to have a list of zone buffs you can use to good advantage when WPvPing. My personal WPvP time is 80% spent during Legion Invasions and BFA Faction assaults, so I will focus on those.

With the 100% xp buff extended for the rest of the expansion, Legion Invasions will always have plenty of players, and this includes 120 gankers. Go there and show them what's what!

I'm omitting class-specific items such as Druid class hall consumables. I am also very much not sure if Alliance has anything juicy in BFA zones that's equivalent to the Loa buffs Horde get (I am mostly a Horde player). I know about the https://www.wowhead.com/item=163743/drust-soulcatcher, but that's meh imo so I haven't included it (especially since it's 20 charges only).

Where possible, I've taken screenshots to show what the item looks like. In other places, you can use the wowhead.com screenshots that will be linked.

With that said, let's begin. Click the spoiler tags to expand categories.

Each Legion Invasion zone has up to 4 NPCs/locations you can visit to get a 30-minute 5% stat buff (this stacks with everything). To refresh, you must first cancel the old buff. Screenshots of what they look like per zone - https://imgur.com/a/axNuWhc

Locations:

Azsuna - You're looking for Archmagisters: 1. next to Illidari Stand FP, 2. just outside the building where you teleport from Org/SW, to the right, 3. next to Challiane's Terrace FP, 4. next to Shackle's Den FP

Val'sharah - You're looking for special moonwells: 1. inside Lorlathil, south edge of village, 2. Up north around 50,39 tucked against the mountainside, 3. and 4. from memory these are not far northeast of Lorlathil, but I don't recall exact location.

Highmountain - You're looking for totems: 1. around 44,57 just outside Thunder Totem, 2. Next to Shipwreck Cover FP, 3. Next to Skyhorn FP, 4. next to Sylvan Falls FP

Stormheim - You're looking for beams of light: 1. next to Valdisdall FP, 2. around 28,57, 3. and 4. no idea if they exist
For this, you need a 110+ Mage friend who has done their class hall campaign almost to the end. They need to use Archmage Vargoth as a guardian follower. When they do, they can summon him every 5 minutes and anyone can speak to him to get a buff (you don't even need to be grouped with the mage). The buff is https://www.wowhead.com/spell=221335/archmage-vargoths-arcane-intellect and despite its obscure description it is a fully stackable 20% SP or AP, depending on your class/spec. As a caster, with Arcane Intellect on you, 5% stats, and this, you get 35% additional spellpower on top of your base. This is not dispellable.

To the best of my knowledge, this is the only Legion class hall follower that can buff other players.
During Stormheim invasions, and only when https://www.wowhead.com/quest=45390/souls-of-the-vrykul is available, you can go locate the trapped https://www.wowhead.com/npc=117600/captive-shieldmaiden . She's in a structure next to a mini elite demon NPC. Kill the NPC, click the shieldmaided and stay nearby for 5s. She will give you a 5min 15% stats + 25% haste buff. This buff stacks indefinitely if you keep killing the NPC and freeing her, though in practice you can't stack it higher than 10 under optimal conditions, and that only for a few seconds. They both respawn more often when there are many players in range (I've had them respawn 20s after being killed, recently). Wait for both demon and maiden to respawn before killing the demon.

The stat buff doesn't stack too much, however the haste does. This means you can reach about 400-600% haste for a comfortable 2-3 minutes (I've managed to hit 1800%+ for a few seconds with 10 stacks, BL and Sephuz proc - https://imgur.com/a/7wKT9QQ here's a screenshot of 1400%+ haste, without drums or BL). This is the single most OP legitimate buff ingame, yes, it is stronger than the Azerite Flare. If you happen to have dot abilities, players literally melt. As an example, a single 5 combo point Rip from my druid with those levels of haste will do upwards of 350k damage to a 120. Combined with other abilities and ridiculous autoattack speed this makes you godlike (not to mention a druid's hots are similarly enhanced).

The issue is that you're pretty much stuck in that area due to the very short duration of the buff.
Scattered around some zones are tiny Crystallized Fel nuggets. They are always in tiny circular patches of green fel on the ground - see these screenshots https://imgur.com/a/en59pQp. They will give you 50% extra damage done, but also 50% extra damage taken, for 1.5 minutes. You can always make a macro to /cancelaura Fel Rage (or whatever the buff name is, I forget) so you can get massive burst in at start, then continue as usual.

Locations - All over the place in Azsuna and Val'sharah, around Feltotem (32,30) in Highmountain, and seemingly absent from Stormheim.
https://www.wowhead.com/item=141884/krotas-shield is a very powerful item, however its 1h cooldown relegates it to the random category. Hard to obtain, too, unless you already have lots of Curious Coins. Shortly, it seems to have survived the Legion --> BFA stat squish. It gives me about 430k shield for 15s. Yes, that's 430 thousand. Best combined with the 50% dmg increase item, since you can ignore the 50% extra damage taken for 15s entirely. No 120, no matter their gear, will be able to break that shield in 15s during this expansion.

You can get a buff by clicking this - https://imgur.com/a/LGm93a7 - that will randomly proc a volley of bolts like very weak arcane missiles. Lasts for 30 minutes, so grab it if you pass by. Locations - all over Azsuna and Val'shara, almost nonexistent in Highmountain, absent from Stormheim

This - https://www.wowhead.com/item=146971/yseralline-poultice#contained-in-object - is a 80% HP potion over 8s, that doesn't share a cooldown with other potions. Unique(5), can be grabbed off the bench just on the south edge of Lorlathil (Val'sharah), next to the 5% stat buff moonwell.
After completing major questlines in each of the 3 zones, you get access to a Loa buff that lasts 20 minutes. You can acquire it from within the zone, or you can set up your shrines in Zul'dazar by speaking to https://www.wowhead.com/npc=137510/chronicler-ashtari#comments.

There are 7 of them, but Bwonsamdi, Paku, Gonk and Jani have little to no use in PVP. The useful ones are:

https://www.wowhead.com/spell=272123/boon-of-kimbul - Best one imo, strongest single target damage. Procs a short bleed on the target every 1 min. This is incredibly strong, you can expect to take off 1/3rd to 1/2 of an average 120's HP from this alone. If combined with the 50% dmg potion listed below anything that's not a tank (or uses an immunity/massive def cooldown) will die in a stunlock/opener.

https://www.wowhead.com/spell=272121/boon-of-akunda - Weaker damage, single hit, but chains to other enemies and heals you.

https://www.wowhead.com/spell=272128/boon-of-kragwa - defensive only, 3 min cd - when damaged below 25% get a big shield and heal up. Could be useful if you go for Alliance Slayer, I suppose.

Note - when you are Exalted with the Honorbound, you can purchase a follower mission for 500 war resources to make these permanent. Do NOT do it, you can complete the mission but there's a short followup quest that's lvl 120 only. Learn from my mistake.
Note - these can be dispelled or even spellstolen. Careful against mages.
When there's a faction assault in those 2 zones, sometimes one of the WQs is to kill 12 of the opposing faction (in Nazmir this is on the long walkway/pier in northeast, in Tiragarde Sound this is in the middle below the Horde gunship).

In both of these, you can locate and click https://www.wowhead.com/spell=282604/unstable-azerite-flare (it's a glowing sparkly ball on the ground). This gives you a 30-minute buff that increases damage done and healing done by 200%, and HP by 25%, and gives you a permanent small dot that can be ignored other than it prevents proper stealthing. Rogues and druids - you can fly close to your target, stealth and immediately open up - 9/10 times you'll get the opener no problem.

This buff remains on you until you leave the WQ zone, you die, you complete the WQ, or right-click the buff off and drop the item. Only 1 person can hold the flare at any given time. You are NOT able to obtain the buff if you finish the WQ. So if you want to use it for longer than 12 kills, make a raid group so your kills don't count towards quest progression. Then you can (ab)use it until the opposing faction gets tired of you and brings a raid group to kill you.

If you still need the titles "The Alliance/Horde Slayer", this is probably the easiest way to obtain them. This is the 2nd strongest legit WPvP buff ingame (after the Stormheim haste stack), and gives you more freedom of movement.
Once you complete the quest chain in Goldtusk Inn, you can click the food items on the table inside the inn for a permanent "food" buff that stacks with other food buffs and gives 201 versatility for 111s. This lasts 1h and is lost when you leave the zone.
These are scattered around Faction Assault quest zones, and tend to be found near or inside structures close to WQ areas. Can't give exact locations, so just keep an eye out for the sparkle of interactive objects.

1. Weapon Rack. 5 minutes of 10% more damage done, 10% less damage taken - https://imgur.com/a/7CtHZv7. Probably the most useful overall.

2. Draft of Reckless Rage. 1 min of 50% more damage done but 50% more damage taken - https://imgur.com/a/Sao1d07. Equivalent to the Legion Crystallized Fel object.

3. Blooms' Blessing. 1 minute of 100% more healing done - https://imgur.com/a/Or7fRrc

4. Anti-magic swill. 1 minute of spell reflect - https://imgur.com/a/4sh4SUx . Reflects the next 1 (rarely 2) spells cast on you.

5. Rock of Life Elixir. This makes you completely invulnerable to everything and heals you to full over a few seconds. You can't move or do anything during the duration - https://imgur.com/a/QqqJRzQ

6. Lightstep Insole. This gives 10% runspeed for 10 minutes - https://imgur.com/a/i2PNUha . However, it doesn't seem to stack with other runspeed effects, at least on my druid it has no effect. Useless for me, but I can see some classes with no passive runspeed effects liking this.

I will be adding to the list if I find anything else. It's also very likely I flat out don't know about some items. Please post below if I omitted something important.

Have fun!

Just had some fun with a non-twinked 112 mage in leveling gear during the current stormheim invasion. Let's just say 0.4s greater pyros are unfair :D.
[doublepost=1588952340,1588948511][/doublepost]I think a quick video demonstration is in order. Who needs twink gear when you can do this...

which ones besides bloodorange stay when you q a bg?

I'm 111, and also don't have a Legion-only account, so I honestly don't know. I would imagine none do since they're all zone-specific and you lose them when you enter the wrong zones.
