29 Warrior Guide

That's weird.. used wrong email to login. didn't know I had 2 accounts lol

Here's how I gear/play my warrior.

Gear:

I run two sets of gear and may add a 3rd "glass cannon" set soon. One is a balanced str/stam set I use for all but flag carrying. The other is a stam/hp heavy set I use when flag carrying or solo defending in AB. The glass cannon/wrecking ball build would lower my HP but raise my AP and Crit %.

I am by no means BIS, but Corpsemaker is not optional and is the only required piece of gear (the drop rate is high). You could fill the rest with Green BOE "... of the bear" and be fine, but without Corpsemaker you are a soft serve ice cream. Crusader is best, but +9 weapon dmg is solid too. I did a comparison of the two, which I can share if interested.

Talents:

I've only played arms in classic, and played fury back in the day... but that was back and the day. I do feel both are completely viable so pick one that fits your play style.

I never feel raged starved in arms with Improved Charge and Tactical Mastery. Maintaining rage to switch to d-stance while a range kites me, then switch back to battle when the gap closes is very nice. The 29 bracket is heavy with rogues, hunters, and druids all with high dodge... high dodge means more overpowers. Improved overpower + Deep Wounds + Impale is good fun and good dmg. My bleeds can add up to a nice chunk of dmg, too. I try to maintain at least 10% crit, so I opt for 3 points in Cruelty over Two-Handed Weapon Specialization. If you want harder hitting bleeds, then go two-handed weapon specialization.

Arms: 17/3/0

If I remember, the numbers say Fury is going to give you more overall dmg with Enrage and Improved Battle Shout. The utility of piercing howl is invaluable, espcially when peeling off the flag carrier.

Fury: 0/20/0

Prot: Never tried prot at 29, but I feel you can't get deep enough into prot to make it worth while.

Professions:
Engineering, ftw. Without intercept, bomb/grenades are your gap closers... without closing the gap on a hunter, mage, ect they will own you. The other toys are fun, but not so much required. FYI... Gnomish Net-o-Matic will net you half the time, so make sure you have your pvp trinket off cooldown.

Consumables:
Solid Sharpening Stones are all I use. I die a lot solo queuing, and they last 30minutes and persist through death.

What's else is in my bags. (keep for flag carrying).
Rumsey Rum Black Label
+8 Stam food
Free Action Pot
Invis Pot
Greater Healing Pot
Swiftness Pot

I made this thread not too long ago with a lot of information about gearing options (particularly horde).

Have a look and go hog-wild.

Edit: In response to the comment above, I think last stand, imp revenge and 1 point in imp shield block are some of the best talents you can get at 29 on a warrior, pound for pound. I'm specced and geared for prot now, and I think this is one of the strongest FC/point defenders in the bracket.

I'm also considering a build that drops imp revenge and goes 3 into tactical mastery so I can shield block straight from combat stance, but I hate to lose such a strong talent.

Well I'll have to give it a try sometime. Times like this I wish it was cheaper to respec.

Are you doing something like this?

Right now, this is my spec. It's a decent all-purpose prot spec, and you can swap to a Corpsemaker to do some damage when you need to.

The other spec I've considered is this one. It has less teeth and no revenge stun so you're losing a lot, but I can't tell you how many times I've had to dump half a rage bar to get a hamstring off or swap to defensive in preparation for a big inc.

The last prot spec worth considering is full mitigation premade FC, which is something like this for my money. Basically the same as my first spec, but 5/5 Iron Will and 3 in Deflection.

At the end of the day, though, play however you want. I don't think warriors are great at 29 compared with rogues and hunters, but they do have a lot of utility for damage mitigation, which makes you an extremely valuable part of an organized team. On the other hand, if your team isn't great, prot might be the least useful solo spec in the bracket.
