Hi guys, I'm almost done with my 29 rogue on Dragonfang (EU) but have a few final questions which I hope you could help me with!

Here is the gear I'll have (will obviously upgrade to Arathi belt and boots in phase 4):
https://classic.wowhead.com/gear-pl...OLAtMPQwzKQ1JqQ5UQI8zNDY6kDLpXPiRAwhc-JIaKA-I

I have all the BoEs and mats for enchants. I just need to farm for the bow and do the quests for chest/ gloves.

My questions:
  • I'm going to go Zealot MH and Vendetta OH. I know +15agi on the Vendetta is ideal and I want to go +15agi on Zealot too. Is this OK or do most people go with crusader on MH?
  • Which poison are optimal? I'm guessing crippling on the Vendetta for highest uptime and Instant on MH?
  • is +9stam on bracers OK instead of +9str?
  • +3 agi on cloak seems the obvious choice?
  • I want to go combat rather than a glasscannon dagger spec. Is it OK to put 2 talent point in Malice or should those points go into Endurance for more reliable sprints/ evasion?
  • I'm actually fairly new to rogues - can you give some advice about good rotations when opening/ general good practice in 1on1s/ battlegrounds?
Thanks very much, any advice is appreciated. I've read a lot of the threads on here and haven't found all the answers yet!

Dual 15 agi is best option imo, if you can get another vendetta to put a weapon chain on it to use if other team has lots of warriors/combat rogues. For poisons I usually run dual crippling, if they have a good healer mind numbing on offhand. 9 stm bracer and 3 agi cloak is best. I run 2/18 combat and it works well, 2 points put into extra crit.

When opening I'll usually cheapshot, ss, expose armor. If it's another rogue cheapshot and then rupture. Then just spam ss/riposte macro, throw in a eviscerate when you got 5 combo points. If you're on a healer keeping up snd isn't a bad idea.

Welcome to the bracket. You'll find rogue is a pretty easy class to do reasonably well with at the beginning levels, but has a fairly high skill cap when it comes to maximizing CDs/interrupts. As for some of your specific questions:

15 agility to Zealot isnt bad. All of the proc enchants are fine. For stam-stacking sword rogues I personally prefer lifestealing, but all of them have their applications.

The accepted norm is that crippling poison is for your offhand vendetta. That isnt set in stone, and varies from encounter to encounter. One thing to note though is you almost never want to use Instant Poison. The DPS gained isnt worth the tradeoffs for other poisons.

I prefer 9 stam to 9 str. 90HP is worth more than 9AP at 29.

3 agility is the best choice until Phase 5 hits, when the stealth to cloak enchant becomes available.

Usually combat builds want to just go 20 combat. You're not as much of a burst class at 29 as you are a CC tank wearing leather.

The last one is way too complicated to address in a single bullet point, but some very basic tips are 1. Macro everything. Have mouseover and focus macros for most of your core abilities. 2. Be cognizant of where all healers are relative to your dps target, and position yourself between them. Pay attention to their cast bar (have a classic cast bar addon) and move to kick/gouge them while theyre in the middle of a heal. 3. Note that you are a primary flag returner in WSG. Know the position of both flags if at all possible. There will be times where its appropriate to break off pursuit of the EFC if you see ours is about to drop. Rogues can decently flag carry at 29, so repicks and getting the flag back to mid for dedicated flag carriers is the difference between 3-0 and 0-3.

Good luck and have fun.

I gotta recommend +5 all resists on cloak. Very strong and crucial to resist things like novas and polys especially.
