Hunter's Pets and Leveling XP Management Mini Guide

You can only have one pet at a time without going to the stablemaster, right? Why are you all making such solid "use this versus this" statements? You don't know wtf youre going to get in a given random BG, and you cant change once youre in.

edit- am I missing something?

What? It's to point out their strong points / where they shine? And if you plan on playing in premade's then you will want to have all 3 Pets regardless.

Also their is scenarios where you play the same team/group of players in a BG esp in group queing vs other group que scenario's so then you might of a idea of what to switch to.

Then of course back to my first point, Premades and Having all 3 Pets. If you're familiar with the guild your playing and their players then you might have a jist of type of line up you will see.

Also where in my guide so I make all these use this verus this ''statements'' ? Or you mean when people are asking me a question like the differences between each pet or what makes these the 3 best?

Not just you, it's every discussion saying that you need this vs this blah blah blah… unless it's a premade v. premade it's completely random. Unless you know the exact makeup of the opposing team it's just rolling dice on what you'll face.

What 90% of people need to know is the best all around, or maybe best vs rogue/hunter since there'll be like 80% those.

Info like this is great for premades, but random johnny doesn't need to worry about:
1. Boar = Charge.
2. The Rake 1.12 AttackSpeed Fastest at 19's good for push back on casters ie priest's.
3. Wind Serpent, Range attack + Magic Damage, good vs classes like paladin/shaman/warriors/druids.

(edit- im not getting on your junk, your guide is great and your info is helpful - just don't get why everyone needs these pets. What they need to know is that they don't really need to have all 3 unless they plan to premade. If it even happens.)

You just quoted only ''Also where in my guide so I make all these use this verus this ''statements'' ?'' then you quote a Post from a question I answered from Jake11241.

Also I state in start guide that is if someone want's all 3 ''main'' pets, if they don't they can simply tame 1 and Level it to 19 freely.

Now if your other argument is why does someone have to tame one of these 3 pets, it's because they are the ''best'' and twinking is about min maxing ? So if you want to grab Shore Crawler and be less efficient, no 1.12 attack speed, no charge, no magic damage/range attack. Or some other useless pet then be my guest.

They were separate points. I quoted the first because you didn't, but threw in the second because eventually you did.

It's not IN the guide, but the whole point of the guide is to get them for those exact reasons, no?

"heres a guide to get these pets right"
"why those pets"
"well, this this and this..."

"where did I say why to get those pets in the guide??"

C'mon, man...

thanks for the great guide
so it is impossible for my pet to gain XP without me getting XP?
do i understand correctly?
i thought if my pet tag a mob and i don't, only pet can get XP

Rake is 1.2 attack speed. Also OP I love you, I've held my tongue for months buuuut, please look up the difference between they're/their as well as your/you're. Also check out to vs too. You will get more likes lol

Why would I need all 3 of these pets? Shouldn’t I just focus on one (thinking boar) and keep using him all the time?
Can you explain the reason behind having all 3?
I understand each has an advantage depending on fighting against who, but going into a battleground, how would I know which one would be more viable? So I feel using the boar only would be the best solution.. what do you think?

Yes, I would say boar is the best all around. But everyone likes options, so I think the point of the guide is to explain how you can effectively have more options.

I understand the effort put into the guide for pets by OP, but the charge on a boar is by far the best in any situation because it's an added CC. This guide would be useful for a hunter looking to min/max for a 1v1 tournament.

OP has a couple of 19 premades (hunter POV) on his youtube channel to get an idea about pet pathing and usage in WSG, although I would say pet control wasn't a priority for him in either match :p

TL;DR of entire thread
Use boar because of the charge ability

What you guys and others aren't taking into consideration too is, what if you have another Hunter on your team (premades) or Queing Pugs with another Hunter. Majority of the time you would want to have a different pet then they are using to get best of both worlds.

Ie. Hunter Supporting an FC you'd prefer either a Boar or Serpent, Boar for help keeping distance / separation from those Incoming and Serpent good for range dmg harass vs those trickling in. Something like The Rake on Offensive on a Priest/Healer while the EFC has a Hex of Weakness on em.

and @(Hass) And yeah my boar did it's job that game, though it's easy enough for it to die vs x2 mages x2 warriors x3 rogues type comps. hamstring/FB then rogue's melt it down.

Totally disagree. We used to run a 'machine gun' build with 8 hunters (two teams of 4) all with assist macros for each group's leader. All using boars. Never did a single person want anything else; too much CC isn't a thing.

Also boar charge buffs their next attack - they aren't lacking for damage.

8 hunters in a premade ? Or in Pug ques 8 hunters no matter what their pet is should win / be ''OP'' if half of them are decent. And Idk when I said boar lacks damage but it does compare to a serpent or the rake =/ Anyways I'm discrediting the Boar just crediting the perks of the other 2 pets as well!

Yeah we would run it vs premades. If you get people well coordinated it's pretty impossible to beat. Eight hunters, Priest and the FC. It's honestly a bit too savage...

Yeah assuming that's way back in the day, I'm sure now in classic their will be stuff such as x2 limit of each class etc will be such rules depending on what guild leaders discuss. But I'm sure the norm will be x2 of each Class for serious guild premades, 'scrims / PuGs' you can maybe fill with third of a class if need to fill and can't find no one else.

You think classic is going to have filters on queuing for BGs?
What, you said you used 8 hunters in premade games. I'm saying in premade games (guild vs guild) their will be x2 class limit obviously.

8 Hunter Twinks n a group que vs randoms should win lol.
