As the progression of the EU team started to take some space in the US thread, we decided to create our own thread, to let US some "space" to finish their recruitment for their own run ;)


Basically, this thread would present the progress of our European team of F2P players in the clean of Blackrock Depths. And as for now, this team doesn't have any name ... yet :D

When I say "EU team", I mean mine ^^ I hope many other EU teams would show up to clear this dungeon. And in that time, i'll correct the way we call this team ;)


Everything started yesterday, with the clear of our first boss, Golem Lord Argelmach, in about 1h30:
A first and pretty hardcore encounter, with a hundred deaths, multiple sets of armor destroyed and huge repair bills, ....

On that first day, the composition was :

As some people, whose name would be forgotten, have taken things on the tables in the tavern, everyone turned hostile, making our spawnplace a giant trap of intant deaths. There was no way to keep that run.

Some adjustments have been done today, leading to the composition:

And after 5 hours of intense fights inside Blackrock Depths, here are some updates !!!

The current run is at 5 bosses over the 15 that we can kill. Counting the boss we killed yesterday, we are at 6/15 ;)

Here are more details, with the time at which each boss has been killed. [0h00] being the moment we entered the instance.


[2h00] Plugger Spazzring killed
The easiest encounter so far, the boss deals nearly no damages, it just takes time.
The really long part is to clean entirely the bar from their users, which took around 1h30.

[2h50] Lord Incendius killed
A pretty straight forward and "classic" encounter: one boss pulled against a wall by the tank, while the other players damage him.

[3h05] Fineous Darkvire killed
A really boring encounter, nothing fancy here as the boss has no special abilities to "spice up" the fight :D

[3h41] Warder Stilgiss killed
A sort of mage with a dog that can enrage. We simply baited the boss at range so he couldn't come in melee range. And as many bosses in this dungeon, they are far less powerfull at range.
We didn't get the time to take a group picture, as a dozen of angry mobs were coming towards us :D

[5h07] Ambassador Flamelash killed
One of our proudest and cleanest encounter yet, with a good management of the aggro we managed to "tame" this boss :D and made the healers almost useless in that fight ^^.

We are currently trying to keep the instance open until tomorrow to continue the clean. 5 hours of fight is a big amount of time, with a lot of boring moments when you have to kill again mobs. Because ... yeah ... mobs respawn inside :mad: and it's not a pleasant discovery ...

We will keep you updated on the progress of the team on the following days ;)
We are also recording the run, with 125Go of video taken today for example :rolleyes: But it would take a bit of time before being uploaded.

A guide would also be published once we have found reliable strats for each boss, and on how to clean the mobs. Because currently, we are mostly running into the boss and then looking up the dungeon guide to know what he can do, and then improvise a strat :D

This is awesome. I have some questions.

Did you find two healers was necessary to keep up with damage?

Did you find either the pally or the druid having trouble holding aggro? What about mitigating damage?

For most fights you needed two healers, those elite mobs hit hard. There are a few packs that can be solo healed, for example the non elites in the bar.

Tanks often lost aggro cuz hunters did so much damage while tank missed most his spells.

Also sometimes mobs aggro on healers that heal tank, that's why you need a healer which keeps another healer alive :)

Yeah, as Coliz/Conzil/Céle said, the aggro is not always kept on the tank. But it's also a mechanic that we "exploit":
The tank can aggro most of the mobs, kite them away in the dungeon, while the hunters focus one mob and take the aggro from this one. So, by the end, we can take down large group of mobs such as the 5 elite pack from the bar.

It was also really useful that the tank looses aggro because of the dps made, for example during Ambassador Flamelash fight, where basically the tank was taunting him, then the boss had to move accross all the room, and before getting to the tank, one of the hunter had done enough damage to get the aggro. So basically the boss was just walking across the room, without touching anyone because of that "loose" of aggro from the tank ;)

Yeah, two healers are definitely needed, especially during some boss fights when they come in melee, such as Golem Lord Argelmach.
Because healers get "quickly" out of mana, you need one healer alive to keep the tank barely alive, while the other healer dies to get full mana and comes back to the fighting place.
And each healer also keep the other alive when they get the aggro, as Ashlander said :)

Good lord, @Brihan, this is absolutely fantastic! I think admiring your screenshots actually made my eyes tear-up a little...

I'm also gonna' request that you include XP-Off usernames on your team-comps, so we can "cheer for the locals" and stuff. ;)

I wanted to do it at first, but we were more busy with the strat to use than on getting the ID's of everyone :D I'm still trying, but the team is currently sleeping. I'll update the post with proper names when I get them ;)
 
Some updates about our run from today:

Somehow, we managed to keep the run we started yesterday, by always having a character connected inside the instance (@Coliz made 7 hours of guard, and then I've done 14 hours before we can resume our clear with everyone ^^)

But today's clear is not really full of boss kills. We played 3 hours, killed one boss, but tested multiple paths, and improving our cleans by dying far less often.

So basically here is the choosen boss:

We would try again on next weekend! Better, Faster, Stronger as some people say ...

If you're interested, here are some overall data of our run, by adding every player over the two days:
- 8 Hours of Fighting
- 7 Bosses killed over 15 available
- 21 Hours of AFK-ing to keep the instance running
- 723 Deaths
- 1.591.682 Damage Done
- 4.717.062 Damage Taken
- 3.293.224 Healing Done

And now I can finally see the sun outside this f*cking "dungeon" :rolleyes:
But everytime i get back inside to kill Coren, I have flashbacks of our fights :eek: ... and i'd prefer to forget some of them :D

The whole run video might show up sometime though :)

I still wait that we go further in the run and manage to get some decent strategies to make a new "video run" that isn't just 8 hours of looking at people who have no idea of what they're doing and that somehow manage to kill bosses :D
Anyway, both videos would be available at some time, but not this week at least ;)
