EU+US Welcome F2P/Vet re-rolls.

A few thoughts on all this craziness right now:

1.) If you play a f2p account in the interest in maxing that out, that's awesome. I totally get that appeal and wish I had vetted a different account then my old f2p tbh.
2.) If you play 20s because a.) don't feel a sub is worth the money anymore b.) don't want to grind endgame to have everything replaced in 1 month/don't have time c.) don't mind a one time month sub to get some gear and group with friends, you probably belong as a vet. Honestly it's hard to argue against them, except for reason 1. Very little monetary investment for a lot of fun/ease of character creation.

If you think you are going to want to sub AT ANY POINT you need to get that account vet status right away. The banked XP you are going to accrue grinding out those amazing purples and investing tons of time at 20 will instantly ding you 30 when you sub.

I really hope this doesn't become a thing where vets are viewed as bad as 29s. For the past 5 years vets and f2ps have coexisted without issue and the thought was never "I'm going to crap on this starter account", something 29s can't really say.

I'm going to play vet, have been vet since the 5 dollar battle chest came out. If it's really unfair I would consider a f2p 20 though.

Let's gets some games popping.

Oh and yes, a return to Aerie Peak, make it happen!

I think people just want games on their schedule, and not be completely gimped.

Whatever the situation down the road, as long as f2play and vet share the same queues there should be games.

Whether it be with levelers or not.

Hey just an important thing to ask/mention - if you make a vet toon, I'm not sure you can relock EXP if you'd like to resub. I recently had problems trying to lock/unlock exp on a vet account. There's EXP banking now, which means that any vet toon with unlocked exp would level up if you resub.

Is anybody more sure about how that whole thing works? Just want to make sure people are properly warned if needed :]

I definitely agree with this. I went vet back in wod, and even tho there's a lot of people who will be rerolling to play, I just hope there isn't any hostility because I, and many others, chose to upgrade from f2p 5 years ago or because people want active games against others. I don't think any addition of activity and competition should at all be looked down upon regardless of why someone may want to switch over. I think a full 20 f2p/vet bracket is going to be a super fun experience.

the first part of this was necessary and is sure to bring nothing but positivity into our bracket

I bet that intro granted catharsis to a whole lotta soccer dad twinkers. It sure did for me. Moreover, I bet it really does help keep the bracket positive by filtering out anyone overly tilted by that intro.

It was good and cathartic to write as well.

That said, I love you guys. I don't give a shit if you're vet or f2p. I have both. I play both. I just had a little fun leaning into my apprehension that the bracket is gonna get infested with vet premades looking for some hk farming

Games have been absolutely WONDERFUL lately. Just wonderful. Teams are positive, the stress is obviously lessened because levelers haven't spent all day getting gy farmed. PVP has been fun (save some clueless levelers) and enjoyable. Honestly the best since Legion

I'd like to see it stay that way. So roll your vets. Just know im gonna tease you for it but that I do so out of love.

Some Vets will still be super strong and I’m sure those with a 29 mentality will want to crap all over levellers and F2P’s, but in general I feel Vets are more inclined to want and enjoyable and competitive game.
I for one will be leaving my Fury out of the Gulch and AB as she’d just tear new ones left, right and centre. I may be tempted to try some Prot PvP though as it will feel competitive again.
And I will be putting the murder stick away and pulling out a bow without the Rambo explosive arrows just to make things more even.
Vets used to chant up to their eyeballs in a bid to keep up with 29’s, but with them out the picture, there’s no need to go full throttle and a semi-Vet will do just fine.
Bring on the competitive games!

some of us were just lucky to get a gift card for christmas around the time veterans were introduced.

honestly thats a good a point, i was still pessimistic about the bracket not getting enough migration (also a worst case scenario, people go cry to blizzard forums and find a way to fuck this up)

Hello, you mentioned as one of the restrictions that bag space would be limited, what does this mean? Also after my sub runs out will I have access to my own bank?

If you have a sub, it's not something you need to worry about.

But pure F2P can only get 16 slot bags and three bank slots.

Just buy big bags, all your bank slots, reagent bank and void storage before your sub runs out and you'll have access to all of it

Is fang set still BIS even if you get all epic upgrades for the 5 slots? I would think int from the set bonus would outweigh them

You get +18 int from set bonuses for 5 pieces. So you'd need to cover that spread with 3-4 extra int from every piece, which means 5 pieces with 10-11 int. Which might theoretically be possible? Maybe with some extremely lucky quest procs and farming of those high int cloth chest pieces?

So if I decide to make a 20 and want the least questing needing to be done, roll druid, get fang set, farm helm and shoulders in hillbrad off yeti rare and ogre rare, wipe hands?
[doublepost=1552661347,1552661268][/doublepost]Has anyone tested to see if the lvl 20 quest from dark moon card should can upgrade to epic? Shoulders I think they are?

Roll druid, get fang set, farm helm in hillsbrad and if it's a horde druid, buy shoulders from krom'gar quartermaster in stonetalon. Alliance druid? The shoulders from SFK and/or any potential quest epic proc would probably be easier than farming the epics from hillsbrad, and not be much worse.

Can vets use the engi goggles once they are usubbed? Engineering cap lowers or something, right?
Literally answered in OP buddy but yes, you can
