Making my first 20

Yada Yada, standard forum pro talk... should be stickied is all I'm saying, seeing as how ALL other topics are now irrelevant.... for any other bracket except this one.
I wonder if there are relevant stickied threads on the vet/f2p forums. Wonder if those exceedingly dedicated communities have, over the years, put together multiple guides and resources for the aspiring cheapskate twink.

Wonder if the very guy I'm arguing with might possibly have a YouTube channel with video guides for the rookie free to player.

Eh, probably not. Someone should just make a whole other thread because I can't find the search function or wowhead

All you goons rerolling vet so you can farm levelers are gonna end up making blizzard say “you gotta have game time to pvp”.
I'm not rolling a vet to stomp levelers. I'm rolling it to play bg's on a low level without sitting 1 hour in que. I have no problems with playing only 29 vs 29 but I cba sitting in 1 hour ques for 15 minute games, sometime much shorter. And for me personally, half the fun of twinking is getting the best possible gear and with a true f2p I wouldent get the same feel to be fair.

I don't think he can find them.

I don't think people realize how much work goes into making something like a comprehensive gear guide. And then to be like "I'd like this 48 hours after the launch of a game shattering change to loot rules around which we don't even know the scope of unknowable unknowns" is just... holy shit.

You're right. F2P feels better.

I don't agree with that, I think you have far less options as a f2p. but we're all entitled to our own opinions I guess. :)

I'm going the vet route, but I'm not going to reroll just to get epics, I've come to terms with 8 days of game time left, if I want 2 or 3 level 20's I dont have time for that shit, lol.

I sadly feel like druid is the only choice if you are making only 1 guy... that way you don't get pigeon holed and can do multiple things if you want... melee/nuke/heals/FC/... anything else is just kind of funky.

Druid is indeed incredibly strong at F2P. But so is every other hybrid class. Paladin, monk and shaman are all really strong as F2P.

And why would you make only one? Getting to twenty and gearing a F2P takes little/no time at all. Many (most?) of us play a handful of different classes.

Where is the thread that talks about what you CANT do as a vet and/or a F2P... like no mail or dungeon ques/ can't speak to people... whatever the hell it was... I thought there was an extensive one and also any changes that are happening with this new shit... I can't locate it.

I know there are ones that mention certain things, but I did not see one that was specific on limitations.

And apparently vets can join guilds if they already have a character in THAT particular guild. Google.

Honestly if you never cared before Tuesday and don't care to look for yourself now, i'd tell them to leave you to it.

It's not veteran/f2p job to tell you how to get around the patch, seriously. They do it because they want to.

Sure. It's got a few years on it's back so you just gotta know where to dig.

At 20, there's just not many classes that have a complete loadout. Most classes which have one are healers. Combine this with how insane healers are in general, and I think it can be extremely miserable not to be either a healer, hybrid healer, or a character with some very strong potential to kill healers.

If I were rerolling (to play solo, which is mostly what I play), I would mainly consider rogue, mage, disc, mm hunter, resto, resto, mist, and moonkin.

I've also found survival to be kinda bad at 20, though I know some people really enjoy it and think it's good. The spec definitely has some strengths.

However, you can really have fun playing whatever you'd like and do okay. The bracket has not many twinks for obvious reasons.

You can't say most of the classes don't have a good kit at 20 and then list 70 percent of the classes as viable. If you meant specs, my apologies.

I think people are going to find that, in the absence of 29s, 20s have a very deep pool of viable specs. The pace is going to slow down between enchant nerfs and lack of 29s which means specs like aff and demo, spriest and maybe even enhance will see more play.

Things are gonna get real cool

I am just a bit confused about one thing.

If I get banked XP playing my vet lvl 20 while my sub is deactivate, how would I prevent him from leveling up if I ever need to activate my sub again?

Needs confirmation, but I keep seeing this asked.

Fwiw, was told the opposite by a GM today.

Well, I was thinking that, if there's a need to reactive the sub, I wouldn't log in the vet 20 for as long as it is active. After that, there is no way it would level up (right?).

Or maybe turning XP off before paying the sub.
