Part 1: Introduction

As a quick opening, my name is Axiom. I have played World of Warcraft for a while now and have always had a love for twinking, and rogues. I am here for you guys to present my 29 Outlaw Rogue guide. If you guy's happen to have any questions, or find something may be false; Leave a comment and I will get back to you whenever I have the time. Anyway, lets get started. :)

Part 2. Choosing a race

There are multiple races you can choose when making your rogue. Below are the 2 I find best suited for each faction.

[Notice: Allied Races NOT included]

Horde

Goblin - Rocket Barrage is INSANE! Mainly for the fact it does anywhere from 200-400 damage in one global, can be used from ranged and is a filler once you run out of energy. See the "Rotation" section below for a better understanding how to use it exactly.

As well as having the Rocket Barrage, you get Rocket Jump which is great for disengaging from a fight, or even jumping to catch someone for the final blow.

Time is money makes little to no difference in damage as 1% haste physically adds .1 energy regeneration. Sort of a useless racial but the other 2 definitely make up for it.

Alliance

Night Elf - Shadowmeld is a great tool for rogues on alliance! Whether it be Shadowmelding a cast to save your life, or put yourself back in stealth it really comes in handy.

As a Night Elf you also gain Quickness which increases your chance to dodge by 2% and movement speed by another 2%.

Finally you get 3 racial passives - Nature's Resistance (practically useless), Touch of Elune, and Wisp Spirit (Completely useless because we will never be dying.)

Part 3: Talents

Upon reaching level 15 you will get your first, and only talent choices. The one you goes depends on your playstyle. If you find yourself sinister striking more then you are using your pistol shot, use Weaponmaster. If you find yourself having to kite often, or using pistol shot more then sinister strike, use Quick Draw.

Weaponmaster - Weaponmaster comes as my usual default talent when it comes to most games. Rarely often do I personally switch from Weaponmaster to Quick Draw. Weaponmaster in a sense saves you 45 Energy + a GCD when it procs. This also causes Pistol shot to proc more often. It is less consistent compared to Quick Draw, but when it works - It works.

Quick Draw - Quick Draw is my second pick! It is extremely useful for those classes that like to kite you or when you need to be kiting yourself. It saves you 20 energy every pistol shot proc and increases damage by 50% which is quite a jump, aswell as awarding an extra combo point. It is more consistent then Weaponmaster for you're not so much relying on RNG.

Ghostly Strike - Ghostly Strike is a talent I never use. 10% increased damage is so minuscule at this level as well as the spell is on GCD, and doesn't give you a combo point. I never use this talent.

Part 4: Spells

Ambush - Melee range |50 Energy | Generates 2 combo points | Second hardest hitting ability

Between the Eyes 20 Yd Range |25 Energy | Requires 1-5 combo points | Ranged stun

Blind - 15 Yd Range | Most important ability you have, use it wisely

Cheap Shot - Melee range | 40 energy | Generates 2 combo points | 4 second stun

Crimson Vial - 30 Energy | 1 of 2 defensive's you actually have at this level, 30 sec CD and heals you for 30% of your HP over 6 seconds

Dispatch - Melee range | 35 Energy | Requires 1-5 combo points | Hardest hitting ability

Grappling Hook - 40 Yd range | 1 Min CD | Gap closer or great disengage

Kick - Melee range | 15s CD | Interrupts a cast and locks the caster from casting any ability in that school for 5 seconds | Probably the second most important ability you have

Pick Lock - For lock picking battered junk boxes hoping you'll get a Blackvenom Blade. You will be disappointed

Pick Pocket - For taking those battered junk boxes you'll be so disappointed in.

Pistol Shot - 20 Yd Range | 40 Energy | Generates 1 combo point | Does low damage | Damage is increased, and cost is reduced by half when it procs.

Riposte - 2 Min CD | Gives you a 100% parry chance (you have to be facing the target to parry) | Reflects damage back at attacker | Only other defensive you have, use it very wisely.

Sap - 10 Yd Range | 35 Energy | Incaps a target not in combat

Sinister Strike - Melee Range | 45 Energy | Generates 1 combo point | Has a 35% chance to give you a pistol shot proc | Primary ability you will be pressing

Stealth - 2 sec CD | makes you a sneaky boi

Combat Potency - Passive | Increases your energy regeneration rate by 35%

Ruthlessness - Passive | Your finishing moves have a 20% chance per combo point to grant a combo point

Part 10: Addons and User Interface

The User interface is one of the most important things to me. This requires a lot of time to figure out what you want exactly, but my preference is as shown below in the photo. This is what my User Interface looks like when I have the most going on.

nB-oEzsGnJO_MJOP3N9BdM4ekUDHjPqDjDVupNrdvjbqfASNLGNAEQRxFiJlztnlAtGsw5P8Wt7oedmD8Dj9vWKmGRZbei8UwZuHu4RT7VtigVaXVScJAEtlj4XlEhPqsPWK0xt-

These are the following addons I use.

1 - Bartender | Lets you add, remove, and move action bars. Extremely helpful addon.

2 - BigDebuffs | Adds any CC, or crucial cooldowns onto the party frames and Blizzard UI Target Frames (The Kidney Shot Picture in the photo and on the party frames)

3 -
Gladius | Replaces standard Blizzard Arena frames with more advanced arena frames. These track diminishing returns, trinkets, health, recourse count, dispels, and basically anything you can think of.

4 - WeakAuras | Not shown in the picture, but helps me track when Vibroblade's Debuff is on the target.

All my addons are strategically placed. Everything is where it is to help ME. I don't like to scan my entire screen to see whats happen at all times instead, just looking in one general spot helps me a lot more. Do what is easiest for you though.

Regarding the Raid Unit Frames on the left, follow these settings exactly to have them how I have them.

[Drums of Fury] (lust/hero) +25% Haste for all raid members

[Solid Sharpening Stone] +5 Weapon damage to a weapon

[Alchemist's Flask] +11 Agility for 5 hours

[Goblin Glider Kit] Slows falling speed for 2 mins

[Heavy Runecloth Bandage] Never know when you might need these :)

[Fried Bombs] Obtainable Bombs that are a slow cast but do OK damage

[Thistle Tea] Restores 100 Energy

Part 12: Conclusion

This guide took me quite a while to write up. I honestly hope it does help SOMEONE. You by no means as I stated at the beginning of the post have to do anything I recommend. Play what fits you best and makes you have the most fun. Having the most fun playing your class is always the most important thing. These are the builds, macros, addons, etc. that I use and find that are the most helpful for me. I decided to write this guide because it seems everyday many people ask me quite an assortment of questions. If you guys have anymore questions, or want to see game play in action you can always check my stream out on Twitch!

Thank you everybody who took the time to read this. Thank you everyone who comes to the stream and supports me. It means the most!

I was sort of hoping someone else would post, but here are a few ideas where this guide could be changed for the better.

I would not put that this is updated for 8.1.5, there should be quite a few more updates to the gear if that is the case.

There should be more trinket options included, particularly engineering trinkets such as Shrink Ray.

BiS chest piece for 8.1.5 is going to be Gloomshroud or Soothsaying Vest.

BiS legs in 8.1.5 are probably going to be either Petrolspill Leggings or an exploited dungeon blue.

You should include Cudgel of Naralex into the list of weapons.

Quite a few more consumables should be listed like F.R.I.E.D. and Mount Motivator to name a few.

I am unsure how to edit the Title, I will edit as soon as I figure out how.

Trinkets like shrink ray, etc. were not added to list to avoid clutter

I am not adding any new items until they've been effectively tested, etc.

Cudgel of Naralex has been in the weapon list from the start

I added F.R.I.E.D. Bombs to the list

The User interface is one of the most important things to me. This requires a lot of time to figure out what you want exactly, but my preference is as shown below in the photo. This is what my User Interface looks like when I have the most going on.

Hi, well to start the engineering goggles definitely aren't bad. I would recommend these if you're in the early stages of gearing and you have the gold to level engi. get the mats for the goggles, etc.

I highly recommend finding any of the good helms you can off the AH that are quickblade as long as their for a reasonable price.

Thank you so much for the quick reply much appreciated so if you had the time and money what would be better for a 29 rogue twink the googles or AH BOE? Thanks again :D

AH BoE's for sure.

If you're on a dead realm some items COULD be replaced be BG blues but its meh. I didn't add many replacements just to avoid giving to many options. It shows more of a straight forward goal.

So if you choose to follow the Arena setlist you would be waiting on Hat, Chest, Bracers, Gloves, Shoulders, and Probably you're Main Hand Weapon most of the time as well.

You go with glass, you only need the bracers and chest from AH, as most of the other stuff can be easily farmed or crafted
