PTR Set Hearth to..........

So, what's the Hearth of choice going to be post 8.1.5 now that most portals are gone.
I'm specifically thinking about F2P's and non-BFA Vets.

Below are some of my observations. Please feel free to leave yours or other comments. I'm trying to work out where I will still be able to access the majority of zones without the need or hassle of a mage / lock port.

New Dalaran [Legion]
Portal only to Stormwind.
All other portal's removed. Even the room which u teleport to, which had Caverns of Time and stuff has all disappeared.

Stormshield (Warspear - Horde equivalent) [WoD]
Portals to Stormwind, Ironforge & Darnassus remain.
Also, blue fire portal in Gorgond still takes you to Timeless Isles [Pandaria]

Shrine [MoP]
Portal only to Stormwind.
Edit : forgot to mention it also has the 10g portal to Ratchet.
Blue fire portal on Timeless Isles takes you to Gorgond [Draenor]

Old Dalaran you can still get to via Boat.

So unless I've missed something, we will lose access to Shattrath completely, and if we chose New Dal, we lose Mists & Draenor, but if we choose Mists or Draenor, we lose New Dal - unless that sneaky Eastern Plaguelands port - trick still works?

I'm still at a bit of a loss where to park my backside.

Have I missed anything? Any other thoughts / comments?

Looks like it will be Stormshield, with a travel option to get to Pandaria, class hall portal bug to get to Legion and old Dalaran travel from SW. We lose Outland.

Was under impression old dalaran and shattrath portals in pandaria was still there.
Didn't try ptr myself but there are portals to azsuna and paw'don village in new portal room afaik.

So if you know all the flying points it is still doable and wod is new thing.
Assuming they didn't level lock new portals in portal rooms which they probably will ofc.

Also using Gorgond to Timeless Isles is impossible without flying as the campfire is on the high rock afaik.

Don't get me wrong i hate the fuckers for doing this.

Darkmoon canon (and maybe a glider) should work, so not impossible, but still not good..

Pretty sure you will need to log out and let the 30 minute CD on the Darkmoon Cannon expire, as there are two pillars to launch yourself onto in order to get to the blue flame (Draenor side).

Oh, I wasn’t aware they were updating the SW : ORG portal rooms. I will check it out tonight.
As @SPQR noted, more than likely that $hit is level locked.

And agreed, u may want a DM Cannon if ur planning the Draenor to Pandaria trek. No need for it when going the other way round.

At first I was angry because I thought they were removing all the portals ,but it seems like they were just moving them to SW/Org. If that's the case, it's great for F2Ps cause they don't need to ask P2P players for a port or make long treks across the world

Ok, I'm not too sure if it's working as intended on PTR yet, but this is what I noticed so far :-

1. All my lvl 20's were only able to access the Exodar portal. All other portal's didn't even have the option of being used. Not even the Mage at the entrance that takes you to the Dark Portal.
2. On my lvl 100, I was able to access all but Azsuna & Boralus.
3. I made a 110 Trial, and he could access all but Boralus.

I have a bad feeling that the new Portal Rooms in SW & ORG won't be that useful to us.

Stormshield is starting to look like my new home.

Yup, this place seems to be the new one for the HS. For horde, thunderbluff and undercity

Also, did them also deleted the portals in pandaria to Outland and Northrend? If so, for outland maybe we can let some chars there in a summonning stone to help other people.

As a veteran druid, I will keep my HS in argus vindicaar, because of https://www.wowhead.com/item=136849/natures-beacon , because I will lose Outland anyway.

Then you always get individuals who are "Happy" for it because it "Lets Them Travel The World"

In the same spirit why are you allowing your character to run instead of walking in definitely?


Hope once patch hits and majority understands the clusterfuck they gotten in to, the sheer outcry will wash over those pity decision making, middle finger throwing, bubble living dumb spurgs.

Wod is cool for efficiency but mop with dalaran/shatt/northern barrens might be still the best for some.
Setting hs will depend on classes.
For rogues for example legion dala is the only option due to energy drinks.
Mages would go for mop with all the teleports they got.
Going to hate to loose perma access to hunter order hall to afk at.

Don't forget to get an Emblem of Margoss from the sewers in new Dalaran. You'd have to fish up a new one every time you'd want to visit Legion but it'd be a good insurance policy getting there.

Yep, I was playing around with it and as a Vet (or lucky F2P), you can DM Cannon & Glide there. I struggled to get the Cannon to get me there on it's own.
Alternatively, you can queue & ghost it there.

There is a high point just to the east of Everbloom Overlook. Cannon & Glider get you there piece of cake.

It would be better to set hearth to Ashran as there are 3 portals there (SW, IF, Darnasus), instead of only 1 in Pandaria. Dead flying or canon+glide should solve the WoD to Panda teleport problem.
