About MM hunter

Recycling and old MM hountard twink made me wonder a few questions about it...
Wich stat should I run to...
Agility and vers full nuts? or should I seek for another secondary?? Does secondary matter? Full agility (or mixed agility/stam)?

And the pet thing... I´ve tried both families: ferocity and cunning and I cant decide (note: all the pets Ive tried have mortal wounds, for the reduced healing) but... wich is better and why: Pathfinding +8% mov speed (Cunning) or +10% leech (Ferocity) ??? several tests and still undecided...

Ah and last, Does the gameplay meta change significantly in 8.1 ?

I will read you in the comments. bb!

Cant wait to educate all you 10 min hunters!

That's going to be absolutely obnoxious.
Are you implying someone would play a class based on top damage?
Mad man.

Agility and attack power are your best stats (1 agility = 1 attack power). Verse is great because it adds to your damage and also helps you live longer. Crit is generally used because hunters need burst to take down healers. And Aimed Shot crits are fun. Going full glass cannon or more balanced with stam/verse is up to you - you could run multiple sets as well.

You have 2 pet slots. You'll have to choose between the families and abilities. No pet is also an option, which gives a 10% damage boost. Often you'll have no pet out during a big team fight. You'll want at least 1 pet that has mortal wounds to help take down healers and EFCs with healers. I'd personally run a ferocity mortal wounds pet for that. I'd then have a second pet that is cunning for the movespeed. Probably with a slow. That will help you when moving around the map and controlling mid/roads. Note that the cunning movespeed does NOT stack with the hybrid boot enchants (cat's swiftness) or AB boots - so you probably want minor speed if you use that. Otherwise consider a tenacity pet which can be useful in solo queue if you need to run the flag.

As to the 8.1 meta...hard to tell until it arrives.

No, I am implying that a spec that is already pretty busted in certain brackets, will be extremely over-tuned in the coming patch. Seen it coming though. There are literally zero people playing Marks at endgame.

Thanks for the answer, very useful ;)

I have been enjoying my last bgs as a MM a lot, pre 8.1
Lets see if I can manage to enhance the potential of the class.

20-29

I wanted to create a general discussion. But accurate info will be appreciated ;)

Full Agi. MM in 8.1 is getting a lot of buffs to the attack power scaling of it's abilities, and there is no way without sockets you are going to hit any break points that would suggest secondaries are going to have any major impact.

Despite any bonuses, MM is still going to need superior positioning to perform and no amount of self peel will save you once jumped. Pet wise you are going to want two, being a Wasp and a Raptor. You lack the talents at 29 to be able to make an impact on the map safely alone, so I would think the high movement speed you can reach with the Pathfinding buff and enchantments will get you into safer positions more often and allow you to fire off more AiS-ArS combos and impact the game.

As for Meta, 29 lacks much of the kit that will allow MM to shine, BM will still provide more consistent Incendiary Ammunition procs and Survival will likely still be top dog thanks to the extra scaling they are receiving on Kill Command. I recommend you try a higher bracket to access Careful Aiming and Sniper Shot.

Whoa. thanks for taking the time to answer. Much appreciated
At first i will try 20-29 bracket. if I like it y may switch to other brackets too. but I will start there.
I know at that brackets BM are slightly better and SV power is big... but... one must decide , and I like MM
So you suggest full Agi/AP instead of secondaries. and cunning pets. Ill give it a try ;)

Can't wait to see how hard 240 AP can hit for.

Na, it is needed. MM is slow as fuck right now.

Not sure which bracket you're referring to, but my 70 Marks can open fights with 6500 crits.
Which translates to a good 80-90% of another twinks health pool.

Are you running full agi/ap? and crit as secondary?
I feel crit being more... mmmh like: POOM! crit. woah!..... "visually enjoyable" :D

Not at all. I am running the original BIS gear from TBC, so I am not even close to the max potential of the BFA meta. But yes, I am stacking critical strike rating.

Can. But in a controlled state that is otherwise reducing your overall output (Waiting to engage with AiS) and at the mercy of RNG (Careful Aim at a 40% chance). While it can be fun to charge up a fat AiS, MM has no hard CC, barely any self peel, no extra mobility or utility over the other two specs and less overall damage throughput.

Starting a fight by standing still for 2.5s is by all means slow, as @Veechard said.
