Unusual Twink specs EP.1 The 20-29s Shockadin Basics

Bakedaflol

The Arthritic Arch-Druid

I started making this series, for the people who might be "new" to twinks, or people who in general are interested in the more "unusual" twink specs, who don't want to play the standard "flavor of the month" Rogue, Arcane, Boomy, Disc things..
Hoping it might be informative to some, I figured I'd throw it out here.

Hope it's an enjoyable experience, either way.

you could enchant ur shield with intellect instead of vitality/shield spike.

Now that you say it, I remember not doing it, cus I use the same shield for Prot aswell as holy. But you're right!

Great video. If I could make one suggestion it would be to move the item descriptions more towards center screen and make them a little larger. Other than that I like the idea of these more 'unsual' specs!

I've been working on a similar idea. Still a little rough at the moment. The only issue I see that while they have quite a bit of burst its hard to sustain damage over a period of time. If they had a "smite" like spell it might be more viable. Armory Link Below

I feel what you mean, bud... RIP Denounce. Getting haste might be a fix for this, to make the spec more fluid.. But with only three damaging abilities, I am conflicted wether haste would be so great for it, tbh..

I have a very similar set, and I typically go vers/crit > haste. My set is very close to yours, and also for the stonetalon bracers, they're only 8 vers for us plate wearers and not 8 str/int, but if you do wanna go super glasscannon, if you change the tabs on the vendor to leather specialization (I don't know the exact wording) I believe you can buy the 8 int bracers.

I've had a decent amount of success with shockadin believe it or not. As you said it's weird and not fotm, but it's kinda fun especially because the shockadin play style isn't how I usually play.

Last thing too, I know you mentioned something about rings, but have you thought about Black Widow Band? I use that along with Advisor's Ring (pvp vendor ring) and I seem to like them the most.

Great guide though, I think it's really cool when people shine light on sets/play styles that aren't part of the current meta.

When you say it, I wish I mentioned Black widow band. I usually don't take them into consideration, due to them being so incredibly expensive on most servers! I only have it for one character, at the moment. But yes, It should've been mentioned! Also, thanks for the feedback! It's kool to hear others enjoying specs like this, like I do. I also do Vers/crit on mine, mainly because it scales so well with enchant procs and your "not so fluid" but heavy hitting abilities.

If you stack enough haste, damage over time is sustained at 29, cant say the same for 20s since you dont get 2x Crusader strikes
A good rotation would be to always start with Holy shock, then 2x crusader strike which leaves a 2 sec CD on holy shock
After 2x Crusader strike use judgement by that time Holy shock will be reset
Rinse and repeat
As a holy healer paladin, stack haste, as a shockadin stack both intel (priority) then haste imo
Best of luck to those trying Hpallys out
We need more!

Doesn't haste benefit Elemental Force Procs as well?
No not for hpall. You need more versatility than haste for this build or Healer build. You have more instant cast spells compared to one casting spell. Haste won’t affect EF proc because there’s no dot unless your mele combatting the enemy

More vers harder your shock and bestow hits/heals
Common sense

I don’t think concentration ticks depend on haste

There was a time in early mop when holy shock was almost one shotting people. Those were fun times....

I'm gonna bust out my prot spec with double ele force, saytre neck, that proc wep and just spam concentrate for days. I wont be able to kill anything but man am I gonna be annoying... Keep on fighting the good fight against fotm sir!

I would not recommend stacking vers for a strictly healing holy pally spec. 65 to 70% of your healing output is from flash of light. Instants are cool but for the most output you absolutely do not want to stack verse.

I would also not recommend stacking vers, even if your a dps hpally. Intellect comes first
Haste to keep yourself alive because lets be real. You will be targeted as a healer
I have 4% vers, and i do well
[doublepost=1541734102,1541734043][/doublepost]Also, Concentration does tick ele

Yeah intellect comes first I thought that should of gone without saying.
Vers gives more survivability too on top of increase healing output.

Consecration’s ticks are NOT affected by haste

Link and armory of your paladin

I find myself in more situations we’re I need to save FC or other players of my premade while the other healer in my team keeps them topped.
It’s really good for soloing rogues the shock increase and dmg decrease Makes it to were I don’t even have to cast, good for FCing. I tend to never sit and heal mid fights.

I wouldn't say I am stacking vers, I just prefer it as an off-stat to int. Int always comes first!
Also, Prot is fuggin boomin these days! :D It's what I play most as Paladin... Tho I wouldn't exactly call it a "killer" it's a really fun spec to play, and the dmg can be suprising at times :)

No offence but it sounds like you're doing it wrong then. Why would you not heal and help the other healer out allowing you BOTH to heal the fc between keeping everyone else up? That just seems like a disaster and a missed opportunity to actually help your team.

On the rogue note, soloing rogues is easy with bestow faith, defensive holy shock, and kiting. If you know how to fake cast you should never lose a 1v1 to a rogue. Holy paladin fcing relies heavily on flash of light and being more tanky than druids (its slower crossing mid but can handle more melee/casters on you). On the note of not sitting mid and healing in mid fights, I'd argue thats a holy paladins biggest strength and a huge missed opportunity. Holy paladin has some of the strongest single target sustained heals (minus mw) with the ability to spread healing through bestow faith, holy shock, and beacon of light. Assuming you position yourself correctly, you should never die in a mid fight, as they have to overextend to kill you/get to you.

I genuinely don't understand how you play this class. You seem to actively go against its strengths which you may be able to get away with in a full premade, but most people here will be solo queing/small grouping. If you'd like I'd be happy to give you some pointers sometime. This class is already gimped enough, please dont spread bad info as fact and turn people off this class.

shockadin is meh, cause u dont get any of paladin natural crit boosts at 29, and u NEED to have at least 10% haste to rotate all of ur nukes in 6 sec(which is around 1000-1500 dmg depending on gear and random)
looking forward to see more off-meta guides, how about fury warrior i think its fun and pretty rare nowdays

I do have a Fury warrior, they are alot of fun to play, cus of all passive haste... Though I wouldn't deem them unusual :O
Thinking about "Holy Priest DPS" and "Resto Druid Stam Tank"
Tho one of the upcoming episodes I'm doing is gonna be 2h Enhance... Tho it won't be yet, since I am reworking my build for BFA.
But was a ton of fun in Legion :O
This is the last video I made in Legion:

For those interested in the whole "Two-Hander Windfury Shaman" thing. I'll get back to it :)
