How to talk about exploits you find if you want to keep using them.

Do you have secret exploits you are scared blizzard might fix?

First I'd like to start off by asking that if a mod has an issue with this thread to send me a message as well as delete the thread if they must. I will fully understand their decision to do so.

We here, or at least most of us here, are a family of sorts. We play the game differently than most of the subscription base. We tend to understand the mechanics of the game more. We know loot tables more. We in general are better players than most in pvp/pve. Since we are a family I must advise you, my brothers and sisters, Please do not make posts discussing exploits.

I am not against the use of exploits. In fact, I love discovering them and sharing them with friends. However, By making a post discussing an exploit you in fact are causing a chain of events that will indeed lead to greater public knowledge of said exploits. In time blizzard could hear of such exploits due to greater public use.

If you get gear that was clearly behind an exploit DO NOT USE IT IN PUBLIC and do not log off wearing the gear. you will only be trading short term fun for long term punishment. I don't just mean your account being punished. I mean the family we have here being punished.

Example:
4 180 ilvl items were recently discovered to have no level requirement. Easily obtainable via a 110+ carry of the rares that dropped them. Though it was patched so that the gear in question couldn't be obtained further it is indeed forever on your toons until reported to a GM. Indeed you can receive a permanent ban for using such items if the GM who reviews your toons has something against you and or your account has had many strikes against it. Normally they will just strip your accounts toons of the items and move on. mass use of the gear in pvp caused a swift response on blizzards part to patch it out and every since they have been keeping an eye on the twinking brackets

To recap: Do not make posts about exploits. Talk to people you know about them via personal messages. If you do not know anyone I advise you start making friends with other people that post in the numerous threads on this site. NO NOT use exploited gear in public. Simply make a set for when you are with trusted friends and when you are in public. That includes anywhere out in the world. DO NOT log off wearing exploited gear. if normal players see your toon is fishy they will report you and you will lose your god status. If you find exploits in general to not discuss them via thread posts.

Keep them Secret, Keep them Safe

No.

Making a public release will get an exploit fixed much faster than an ordinary bug report would. This is because a public release will usually generate a lot more attention, thus putting a lot more pressure on the developers to have it fixed like, yesterday.

You make a good point. However, I made this thread as a reminder to those that want to benefit from exploits to keep it quite rather than publicly announce it/use it.

If people want to shine light on exploits more power to them. A fair and balanced game is overall a better experience for the majority. I am not one of those people. I relish in the use secret exploits that give an economical or combat advantage. This thread was a reminder to those that also share my point of view to keep quite about such exploits.

yes well, my point is obvioulsy that if you do not want to get an exploit fixed you should obviously keep your pie hole shut and not make a public release (actually, try to not share it at all, theres a reason why all exploiting communities worth a fuck are very secretive, duh)

no im saying that if you wanna keep enjoying your exploit you should best keep it to yourself
