DPS gone 29 Warlock

So after 4 years gone i asked a few about gear and have been updating it thru random dungeons.
notice after about 10 days of bg's im only hitting around 30-36k dps.
used to hit over 100k per game. dont know if they nerfed enchants on items or its just the spells that have gotten weaker. used to be able to knock 3 people out solo, now i can barely take anyone 1v1.

going to reroll a 29 toon need some advice on what to try next.

You need hidden satyr and elemental force or it’s pointless, these two enchants carry most builds , both can procc of dots

Working on a lock right now as well, ele force and satyr are a must like Pebblechewer said.

I don't have a ton of time on my lock yet but it seems like they are one of the few classes right now that should be a glass cannon. Verse is what's hot right now for a lot of classes but even stacking verse I felt super squishy and ended up switching to haste/crit secondaries. Either set of gear I survive trouble by drain life spamming anyways.

I can't say that warlock is in a very good place right now if you want to be bursty, the only thing that makes it work is the enchants, and that's for affliction, basically down to trying to trigger as many enchant proccs as possible as fast as possible, thats what it's come down to. I need to give it one more try on each build later again, as i only tried with the enchant combo on aff.

Totally agree, I was more so saying if you want to play lock glass cannon build is probably best as opposed to almost every other class where verse stacking is preferred.

Haste and maybe crit stacking could potentially work for affliction, but i'm not too bothered right now with trying. Theoretically it should work really nice with haste just to trigger the enchants more frequently, the drain life heal is really strong, problem is when people interrupt it, you die in a second or two. When i played aff lock my focus was always to dot everything all the time, basically a battle on attrition, and let others deal with the burst rotation to get targets down.

My favorite lock days was actually in classic, where you had no DR on fear and could just run around, dot and smack people with a staff that had fiery weapon enchant :D

Everything is scaled down. Damage, HP, healing etc.
Indeed, it's frankly a bit depressing seeing how all the levels are more mashed together now, you don't suddenly feel all to much stronger damage-wise by gearing or lvling up, as much as before, its mostly down to abilities, enchants and synergies.

Still having a blast though these days. 29 is a lot more on equal grounds than on 19 where half of the people in bg's are missing gear pieces completely or using whites/grays, ending up at half the hp or stats of a twink or less.

i normally use destruction and also tried affliction.
with destruction if a large group ill throw rain of fire AOE down as it also seems to proc off any it hits.
then dot with as many enemy's immolate first then start dumping on one player conflag and chaos bolt, incinerate incinerate.
i feel the damage is better when your trying to just kill someone off quicker when like a rouge is attacking a healer.

with affliction its only beneficial with larger groups like in the beginning of the match or when a large group in incoming.
1v1 or a small group of 3 i feel very weak so much precious time the enemy has to run up to me or run away. even trying to throw a fear on the healer of the group first.
this is using a macro with target enemy player cast sequence agony, corruption as many as i can then shadow bolt, deathbolt when its up. might need more time with this spec but from initial use it just seems weaker.

i tested a few enchants as well avalanche states it procs often but i found thru testing it only hit ONCE using 18 sec immolate time with 40ish normal damage and 90ish crit. elemental force hit TWICE doing 70ish normal damage and 150ish crits. so yea i switched to that yesterday.

ill also switch from imp to satyr thanks.

I don't get why blizzard creates these huge disparities between classes and specs at lower levels. Take mages, arcane does say 210 dps, but then fire does 80dps. So the new player who creates a mages and does not know any batter and specs fire to level it is going to take him over twice as long to kill anything.

At least survival hunters were fixed. I'll be happy from that all BFA.

I don't get it either, especially with how homogenized classes can be now with everybody getting the same toolkit and just putting a different visual effect on it essentially instead of having more niche classes that gave up power for utility or visa versa. It hurts twinking because when every class gets a cc/interupt/sprint it just comes down to what level they get it.

Seems like instead of rock, paper, scissors type balance it is a game of rock, rock, rock and whoever can get the biggest rock.

I dont think lock is honestly in a good place right now for twinking

It does really lack one or two toolkit abilities like a decent stun or something that would help it immensely while other classes like my pally already have a stun, a bubble, and a sprint at 29. Edit: and arcane torrent removes a random beneficial effect so add a purge too.
