EU+US Old paladin granny. What do I need to do to get relevant again?

Hey guys.

Been a member for a long time, but I haven't played or been active here for a few years.
I'm thinking of getting back into the game and eventually get back into twinking.
I have this lovely old grandfathered paladin that I'm thinking of giving a makeover.
As mentioned, I haven't been active in the wow/twinking community for a long time, so I have no clue what to do really.
Apparantly item level is important now? And you're able to scale down the level requirements on certain items?

I guess I'll do the 101 basic of what to know about the new pvp system.

Yes ilvl is everything, BUT armor type is even more important. Given you are a paladin, you MUST have full PLATE equipped in order to benefit from the ilvl of that slot. If not, the system detects it as being empty. This, sadly, makes your beloved pants useless for instanced pvp.

Secondly, I am going to leave a link to my instanced pvp level 10 Warrior guide. The gear is 100% the same. As @simonoldtwink mentioned, the current BIS is full Felforged from the invasions during the pre-legion launch event, my guide was made for those who did not have the opportunity to obtain those items.

All the "Front-line" gear and "Recruit" weapons links are a bit missleading, they are in fact ilvl 15 if green, and ilvl 18 if blue, the latter being BiS. They are obtained by grouping up with, queuing random BGs and WINNING with a lvl 15+ (since they have access to the RANDOM Bg option).

Your server means nothing for battlegrounds. It is very easy to gear a toon on any server, and then make friends by adding their battle tags after you meet them in bgs.

If you wanted to know where the majority of twinks are located, the answer is Bleeding Hollow. There are guilds in other servers as well, but I doubt there is an updated list anywhere on the site.

Goldshire and Orgrimmar
wpvp = world pvp, for example killing people in Hillsbrad Foothills
