XPOff-topic Bro
just wanted to stress the importance of

i have found so many wonderful uses for this item
the obvious being traversing elevations that would otherwise be blocked off to starter edition players

there is a nice way to get to and from pandaria from draenor using this item in gorgrond
in case you were only able to get a high lvl mage to port you to 1 of the locs

another good use is if your corpse is stuck amidst many high lvl mobs and all your gear is broken
although while casting the 2-3 second animation to activate the item you are vulnerable
once your toon is inside the cannon all mobs drop hostility
and you get launched out of the spot where you corpse was stuck

interested in seeing what other people think are some other good pve exploration/random fun items

yeah
darkmoon faire
and not too hard
just have to beat the real big race under 20 tolls using the darkmoon powermonger mount

I’m a big fan of the DM Cannon. I’ve done a heap of exploring with it, back in the day when explorers couldn’t corpse run while waiting for bg & dungeon queues - lol. Check out the below link...

https://xpoff.com/threads/mt-hyjal-how-to-get-there-other-hard-to-reach-places.66522/

Though a heap of pictures and the last part of the thread was lost when XPOff went down, it still has a heap of places u can get to without a sub.

I got the cannon on all but 1 of my 20’s. IMO, it is quite hard to get but certainly worth it.

My favourite place of exploration was Mt Hyjal, that place spits out unsub’d toons upon death, but the satisfaction of having explored Hyjal without assistance was a highlight! Though, there were some rage moments

the powermonger under 20 bells is not that hard
just snag a rocket launch power up
cancel race
go back start over
and than you can skip a good 1/3 of the racetrack with a jump

A lot of people know about http://www.wowhead.com/item=144339/sturdy-love-fool - which is a scaling target dummy.

http://www.wowhead.com/item=46109/sea-turtle moves faster in water and I think is obtainable as f2p

http://www.wowhead.com/spell=6458/ornate-spyglass can be useful, especially for looking at points faroff in BGs.

Can f2p get http://www.wowhead.com/item=102463/fire-watchers-oath ?

managed to get the sturdy love fool this year
i actually got really lucky on my very first darkmoon faire ever and fished up my sea turtle on like the 2nd cast
i have always ignored the ornate spyglass out of lazyness
and i am not aware of the fire watchers oath
will have to try and get it

Dont forget the Nat Pagle Raft!.. with my hunter i can shoot while kiting on the water in high speed. also its the fastest way of traveling for us twinks... For example from SW gate you go to the nearby pond.. and follow the river from there all the way to duskwood redridge westfall STV and thats just 1 example. its a must have!... and i think its obtainable for f2p right? yeh

I believe the raft requires rep with Anglers but the cost is out of range for F2P’s. It’s a perk we Vets can get ;)

The Spyglass is out of reach of F2P’s as well. I did try it on my Vets but the zoom sort of makes me sea-sick! Maybe I’m just used to the Hunters Eagle Eye.

Goblin gliders, man. Goblin gliders.

Rare drop from blingtron gifts. Though they seem to have gotten even more rare...

ikr
i have a total of 1 on all my 10 toons

I could easily find Blingtrons around bank before 'Garrison' thing. It's very rare nowadays.

Oh boy a pve thread!

While I know you said pve exploration items... I can't just leave it at that. PvE is more than just exploration, so I'll give my share of awesome PvE items I love!

RoA. The absolute best. Also grandfathered for F2Ps. I don't know any other F2P with that item, and a damn shame - it's not consumable and very useful. Works basically like a sap with a cool visual effect, if you're a kiting class you can use it to gain distance, and if you're a healing class (like me) you can use it and heal to full + let mana regen naturally to max during that 1 minute wait time. I use it in pretty much every solo.

Gliders. Before them we only had slowfall beer that would run out in most inconvenient moments or one-use S.A.F.E parachutes. Cannon + Glider is my favorite way of traversing the high level areas, and I'm sure it's the same for many others.

WBFH. While it's no donut, the +75 fishing boost really comes in handy.

Cooking Fire. I know it's not an item. But it's a +4 versality buff for the whole party for your PvE fights.

Bandages. I said it already, but I love bandages. Wow will lose a lot if they remove First Aid, and if it gets merged with Tailoring I'll be damned if I don't switch between Tailoring/Herbalism constantly to farm up mats. Also, if you're a pally, Bubble + Bandage combo is a good mana conserving heal.

Shadow Protection Potion. Just cause it's so rare.

I'm sure there are plenty more that I don't remember now, but dear items - thank you for sticking with me this whole time.

There was a fel-bomb like thing that does over 20k damage from the Legion Invasion Event. Do you remember those Crystal?
I still keep one of those :)
