EU+US Is fishing event too hard or is it just me?

I see multiple twinks with double hooks of the master angler. Some people have double hooks on like three or more different toons. Every week I keep losing, so was wondering if anyone had any good advice I may be missing. I fish on the route recommended on xpoff (from sundering, then north to the last island, then back down). I don't know if the event is just too hard, if it's bugged, or if there are some things I am missing. Sorry if this seems like a meaningless or very common post/question, but I really seem to need advice if I want to win this 9 more times. Thank you.

Most likely obtained them before blizzard made the dumbest decision to change the tournament again and making it harder for anyone below level 100

Its not actually that hard to win it even at 19 or whatever level.
Things you kind of want to do before hand is to max out your fishing skill at 800. And get the BIS fishing gear obtainable for you at your current moment.
Now once you have that you find a buddy of yours with a two seating flying mount and forces him to fly you aroudn during the tournament or simply use a secondary account for it.

The way I won was being logged into two characters aat the same time, one of them the character I needed to win on and the other the taxi. With both obviously having find fish.
But yeah its just RNG if you win or not tbh.

If you were smart you would do MoP timewalking to get revered with anglers rep. I got the fishing raft that increases speed by 130% and you can prevent mobs from attacking you at all times plus a sick fishing pole on my twink. However your gonna need about 7 lvl 90+ toons and you only got until this Tuesday before it ends.

Hmm. Ok I'll look more into this to see if it's doable. Only have two toons above 90. Thank you.

Fishing level makes no difference.

There was a short period of time where Blizz changed the tournament to allow 50 winners. I thought it would remain like that but they changed it back. They probably got the $hits on after twinks were decking out there 19's, 20's and 29's lol.
Now unfortunately u have to do it the old way and actually won the darn thing.
I was lucky enough to deck out 1 toon but missed on getting the fishing pole and loom ring :(
Where I live, I gotta get up at 4am on a Monday and I ain't doing that only to miss out at 39 fish!
The Blizz killjoy police got to the tourney!

Blizz dont care what so ever about twinks, its not like the fish hooks matter in ipvp or wpvp

Yea. I managed to win only once since it has gotten harder. But it's is really difficult, so I'm just going to work on what Goodh recommended and get fishing raft. Then ill just practice and hope to win I guess. Thanks for info and yea, a lot of my friends just stopped doing the tourney cuz it doesn't seem worth it.

It's not like you -need- the trinkets to have maxed out stats in BG's :') Although it does look cool ofcourse.

Yea I just want to get the best gear I can get. And I feel like I've already dedicated a lot of time trying to get them, so I'm hoping with time I'll eventually get the remaining nine. Might be stupid of me, but meh.

Most of us achieved it when it was top 50 per server or so who would all share first place. You could literally get it on 3 different chars per event.

If you want it now, my advice would be to come prepared. Have HS set to Booty Bay, get a friend to phase you to a dead server (he should make a DK on some random jaja server or whatever). Make sure he is the first to enter the zone before inviting (since they changed how phasing works some time ago now).

Yea, i am on cenarius, which is a dead server, but it is connected to proudmoore and other large servers so it's more difficult. I lost yesterday mainly because i tried a new spot, thinking that people would switch up their strats that lost. So i thought i'd mix them up by fishing near cape when i normally fish in northern, but it was super crowded. I've won twice in northern, so i think i just need to fish there and stuff. I also have fishing raft and i can try to ask someone to phase me to a dead realm if that's needed. Thanks for the tips.

Try around the whirlpool area (just above Gurubashi Arena). That's usually where I go. I often catch 40 fish there before someone turn in theirs for the win.

Yea, I usually tried to start there, then go up northern and back down, but found that there are usually a lot of people who either start or just fish at the sundering. I’ll try it next time though, but if I find it to be too occupied, I feel that going up northern is least occupied. I may also be losing cuz if other factors like speed, nervousness, a shitty mouse, or just being bad or low awareness or something idk. Thanks for the tip though.

I usually use the whirlpool area, and if it's too occupied, I'll start going along the coastline, towards Booty Bay, and then back up again. I also have weather beaten journal, which enables the "track fish" function so I can see them on my minimap.

But yeah, realm-hopping until you find a quiet realm is usually the go-to thing. You could have a friend make multiple DK's instead of putting all your eggs in one basket (gunning for one server only), just to have the option to phase to a few others as well if the first option seems too crowded.
