70-79 Level 70 PvE BiS Gear Compendium

Currently: Spec-specific gear list ilvl nuances. (equipping a ''worse'' item without losing a full ilvl could be worth it)

How did you go testing http://www.wowhead.com/item=34427/blackened-naaru-sliver? I noticed simcraft dose not calulate the proc damage (well I couldn't see it anyway)

On another interesting note, playing around with gems/enchants for feral showed changing from full agility to a mix of haste and crit boosted dps by around 200-400 pre ilvl multiplier calculations.

This was around 4600+ dps to 5000+ dps for reference. Patchwork boss and pre ilvl calculation.

I will have to double check but at around 700agility, 25%crit and 30%haste was maxing out dps.

Not sure if it is viable to list bis enchants/gems for a spec using the bis gear sets? I realise the stat weights would change for different gear. Just was surprised how much change it made to the overall dps.

I manually wrote a trinket into simcraft myself to replicate what the Blackened Sliver does.

Gems and Enchants are a really time-consuming thing to add and they're usually pretty straight-forward anyway so it's not really worth it in my opinion.

chey i noticed the same thing meddling with my fury warrior's gems. without doing the ilvl calc, dps maxed out at 25% crit and 42% haste.
however; i think that the reason full primary is labelled "the best" is due to the way % based increases work. for example- 1.67% of say, 550 agil is way less than 1.67% of 711 agil, and that just might make the difference and outweigh the secondaries in the end.
^ all of that second part is pure speculation atm

Item level bonus is a flat increase to all your damage, it doesn't disproportionately affect any kind of build. That's not how percentages work. You can safely ignore the item level bonus when comparing builds (unless there's a difference in ilvl between two builds, obviously) because all it does is add ~75% more damage on top of your total.

One of the reasons you guys might be noticing secondary stat builds simming higher could be because you're forgetting to add bloodlust and/or haste pots.

But it's actually worth considering more secondaries, haste especially, now that the new black temple has introduced much longer encounters. Short encounter = extremely high % bloodlust+pot uptimes = haste is worth less. We've previously been basing builds on 2-3 minute encounters.

can you post your trinket data here? itd be faster to optimize each spec's build if more than 1 guy was doing this stuff.

edit: and i only know the very basics of sc atm, so building things from scratch sounds like itd be beyond me

Simcraft doesn't support the ''add stack on auto-attack'' mechanic so the closest you can get to Blackened Naaru Sliver is this:

trinket2=blackened_naaru_sliver,gems=23haste,use=10ap_10stacks_1tick_20dur_65cd

You have to keep in mind that this ^ is slightly better than what the trinket actually does. the 'tick' parameter can be adjusted based on how fast you think you roughly stack the buff. For specs like Assassination Rogue or Frost DK, setting it to 0.5 is about right.

It will sim as a roughly 100 dps increase on Arms Warrior, for example. Which is pretty nice but compared to the 3 ilvls you gain from equipping a Lightning Generator it's not that great after all.

I already did this for every melee spec, and the only ones where you can really consider using it is the fast auto-attack specs (Frost DK, Assasination Rogue, Feral Druid, etc).

interesting. i was hoping to compare my setups to yours- i have 3 different sets on my war and 1 on my monk.
my thought is due to the 2.8 ish ilvls you gain form the second glg, you can use that with other items like the snow gogs and hard khorium battlefists (for warrior).

to be specific these are my main "i think this is the best" sets
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/dawnbringer/crim

https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/khadgar/atzelas
this ones 164.25 while logged in, id why warrior is the only class that does this.

And now we add our ilvl bonuses:
Average ilvl equipped with necklace of the deep: 157,43
Average ilvl equipped with hard khorium choker: 161,12
(157,43 - 115) * 1,67 = 70,8581
6768,5 * 1,708581 = 11564 total instanced dps for necklace of the deep
(161,12 - 115) * 1,67 = 77,0204
6747 * 1,770204 = 11943 total instanced dps for hard khorium choker

why are all your decimal points switched with commas?

applying ilvl bonuses to my fury war's sets (all of them used 2x apy as weaps)
my 161 set (used what the bis compendium listed except that you can fit hard khorium battlefists, so i used those)

(161-115)x1.67=76.82
5177x1.7682=9153.97

this set used mechanized snowgogs of str, dread boots, hard khorium battlefists, and 2x glg
(164-115)x1.67=81.83
5134x1.8183=9684.7776

and this set uses the highest ilvl items possible- executioner's band, greaves of the traitor, soul sealed belt of the soldier, borderland paingrips, mech gogs, and 2xglg
(166-115)x1.67=85.17
5156x1.8517=9547

let me know if you get a different sim results. all i did was remove the extra socket bonuses, and used fx's trinket inplace of the normal sliver.

that feeling when you need a loop of forged power on 8 twinks across 3 servers >.>
First step, admiring you have a problem.

So 7.3 is here and i'am very curious to hear if you guys have any thoughts on the new gear changes. I hope @Fx still has an interest in this and is buried deep in stats and sims!

Have had a quick look at using healing gear for versa build tanks and the possibilities look quite promising.

Most of the european 70 pve community quit 70 or wow altogether. Including Fx, Shinela and myself. :(

That really is a shame to hear, hope to see you back at some point.
Best of luck with whatever you do in the interim. :)

you serious?

and chey, i bet i can make a few crazy vers builds for tanks

Haha yeah m8, looks like there is a lot of new options for all class/specs! Actually excited to start putting some of these miss match sets together!
