EU+US Mt Hyjal - how to get there? Other hard to reach places...

A few more snaps from Deepholm before I was violently puked out of the place!

This is the closest I could get to the Gunship by fair means. I was standing on a broken piece of one of the tall pillars and unfortunately the cannon wouldn't work from it. This must have been at least 10-12 cannon blasts from the ground. I stopped counting.

Gliders - an explorers best friend! My armour was looking a bit sick by this stage - lol.;)

This one is to show how high up you can get just using the cannon. Probably about 8-10 blasts up.

Some more Deepholm scenery.

Now, another thing I noticed, and I never thought this used to be the case, but if you enter a bg while in ghost form, when you come out of the bg, you are alive again. I was halfway to my body when I entered a bg, then when I came out I just dropped from the sky not realising it was going to rez me. It must be a new thing as you never could enter a bg while in ghost form before. Anyhow, being the crafty person that I am, I thought I would utilise it just one time.........

I wasn't going to miss out on a selfie with Mylra! I know, I know, you can't get on the gunship naturally as a 20, but hey, sometimes you need to fracture a few rules to capture that perfect shot! :p

Well, Deepholm didn't get completely conquered this time round due to Blizz putting a damn trap in there for non-flyers, but hey, I'm a little wiser and will finish the job off down the track! ;)

I got terribly stuck in like some damn crevice and couldn't get out no matter what I tried. Even tried to blast out with the cannon but to no avail. I certainly wasn't going to hearth out. I felt like crying, but then I thought, oh, what about the stuck option. I've never used that before. I saw an option to hearth and an option to die and go to nearest graveyard. So I chose the graveyard option and........
WTF? I ended up back in my hearth point in Pandaria? I'm not sure if it is a bug thing for us Vets and F2P's in the Cata zones, a bit like Hyjal kicks you out to Ashenvale when you die, but trying to get out of a stuck situation in Deepholm spat me right out of that place!

Dang that's cruel... After all the fuss getting there its gonna drive one crazy with that hanging zone. I'd definitely use a druid or monk to exploration so I can recall myself to graveyard when stuck. On the other hand these pictures look amazing and i'd definitely love to visit sometime. I'm fairly new and never been on p2p so most of my friends are f2p like me. Perhaps one day...

I found out about the bg/dungeon res thing during lunar new year event, when I had no idea about glider and the cannon. It was really handy for getting flight points, especially in mount hyjal where you can fly directly to Nordassil and wait for a bg pop.

Also just wonder how hard is it to navigate in deepholm? I feel like Blade Edge Mountains in Outland was the hardest so far, where you have to use multiple cannon shots to hike the spikes to reach some of the elevated areas, is Deeohole similar?

Dang, I did Hyjal the hard way and ran so many times as a ghost from Ashenvale - lol

Deepholm does require the cannon. I can't see any other way to get to the zones which are really all scattered around the edges and up high. I guess with the bg/dungeon rez you can do it that way, but I like the old fashioned hard way ;)
I was sort of hoping to take the Stormwind teleporter back from Deepholm, then trying the Deepholm teleporter again after that. Maybe it would trigger something that would allow me to use it by going through it one way first but I didn't get the opportunity to test it this time round.

I was P2P first and then switched over to Vet as I was getting fed up with end game PvP. Now I enjoy Vet & F2P - I also have a lot of the bells and whistles because of the P2P years :D

I haven't done much in Blades Edge yet. I started Outland exploring before Midsummer and stopped to try and get some toys and mogs but will get back to it soon. I did run through it to pick up a few flight paths, but that's it for now. I used the cannon heaps in Hyjal when I first explored it as you can see from earlier on in this thread. I really enjoy the exploration part of 20's. It's like solving a puzzle working out where to jump, how to get past certain mobs, etc etc. All good fun!

Hats off for all the run! Yeah in most cases I won't use this for exploration, that aint that many mops. Only for Mt Hyjal, Uldam and a few places. But it can be very handy for getting into opposite faction capitals for Mid-Summer as well as death flying into/out of Valley of enternal blossom for the first time

Ok, I'm fairly certain this has been done and mentioned previously by @Dimmuborgir in another post about the Darkmoon Cannon, but this more confirmation that we can get to Camp Forge : Terror, Camp Forge : Wrath and Ogri'la on the western end of Blade's Edge Mountains. It's a painful task but with enough patience and Cannon blasts you can do it. There's not a lot of places to shoot the Cannon from but I found you can use the 'blades' sticking out of the mountains. You walk up them and then Goblin Glide to a higher location. Essentials required are Darkmoon Cannon and Goblin Gliders.
A few snapshots below :-

And the final glide was from this 'blade' straight into Camp Forge : Wrath!

Hoohoohoo you made it to the top! I was first trying to do it from Sylvannar (ally village) side but wasnt able to find a path + cannon not usable on the spikes. So I went from the other side from the edge of zangarmarsh. As F2P my glider supply is limited and I used them to reach the floating islands in Netherstorm and Shadowmoon Valley. Here's my kitty at the edge of the world :D

Just curious how did you get the selfie camera. I was able to find one during the last Kirin Tor Tavern Event, but it could last only 24 hours after pickup (even when you don't logging in). I was able to use that window to get snaps on multiple toons around the world and there were 4 locations I had to miss out for the "Field Photographer" achievement. Deepholm being one of them, the others are the Frozen Throne, Karazhan (both have to be in the raid) and Naxxramas (floating in the air)

Hey nice work. U did well to get there on a F2P with limited gliders. I did the exact same thing trying to get there from the Ally village as it seemed to be on higher ground. I even made my way onto the roof of one of the towers to try and get some extra distance up before my first blast but struggled to get to the top from that side.
I ended up going to the northern end of Blade's Edge and shooting south. I was able to make it that way.

I was an end game player till half way through WoD. So I had a garrison and did a mission to get the camera and upgraded it till it became the toy so all my toons now have it since it's a toy. It's one of the perks of being Vet over F2P. ;)
The other perk being I have made a crap ton of gliders so will be a while before I run out!
I can't recall but I'm wondering if the camera can drop from a Blingtron. I know the PhotoBomb toy can drop but not sure, thought I may have seen on a list somewhere that the camera itself can drop from it, though a very low drop rate. There a mounts that also drop that aren't noted on the list. That is possibly the only chance u have as a true F2P unless u link a paid account with ur F2P account.
But with regards to the Field Photographer, as you noted we are unable to obtain it because we can't enter some instances or raids for the photos. I started the Achieve and will try and do as much of it as I can over time but I know there's a handful we can't do. :(

Just a bit of info for those that didn't know, but the http://www.wowhead.com/item=127669/skull-of-the-mad-chief can actually act as a supersonic glider in Draenor. You can only go in a straight direction, however if you are on a high point and face the direction you want to go, the Skull will act like a glider, only much faster and you cover more distance.

I discovered this by chance when I popped it to see how fast I would go, and I flew off an edge and just powered through the air. It will help greatly with Draenor exploration for those brave enough to explore the land of the one-shot deaths!

No Skull for F2P... it must be picked up first by a level 100 character.

Damn that sux!
I was very lucky I accidently stumbled across it on my 100 while going boss hunting. Found it by pure chance and only now that I'm looking to explore Draenor did I realise how cool it is.
On the ground u can control ur direction with it but in the air u just fly in the direction u were pointing when u got airborne.
It also works above water so you fly at speed above the water. It has a cast time though which sux if u want to try and pop it quick to get away from mobs.
I thought there were some toys/treasure in Draenor that can be picked up by F2P's. I remember when WoD got added to battlehest so many people were scouring Draenor and finding all sorts of things.

Thinking of making my way to Vashj'ir for some exploration. I understand there is a flight path you can reach, but when you go under the water into Vahj'ir itself, do we get the water breathing buff? Has any F2P or Vet tested this?

And also, it seems though I picked up the Seahorse mount on several higher level toons, it's not showing on my Vet's. Does that mean no Seahorse? I thought mounts were account wide

Anyone with Vashj'ir experience would love to hear what you know.

any1 tested anglers fishing raft or tht stv fishing trinket to get into vashj'ir

I haven't tested either of them, though I still don't have access to the Anglers raft. I'm working towards it!
I used the Azure Water Strider and was able to get across before fatigue got the better of me. Have u got access to the Strider? Possibly the DMF underwater mount could do it also?

well im not able to use mounts as lvl 10 but i think the fishing raft would do it :) ill try it today.

I made it to Vashj'ir with the darkmoon cannon, a goblin glider and the sea turtle, which you could also use as a lvl 10. (That is, if you have it, of course.) I didn't even have to heal.
Vashj'ir is btw the easiest zone to explore. Just swim around the zone at the surface (again: sea turtle speeds it up), there is no need to dive and hardly any mobs that could kill you.

Ok, some more useless info for those keen explorers......
It is possible to enter Zeramas in Zul'Drak. Why? Don't know, I just saw it and wanted to get into it.......
After launching from many different spots, I found the sweet spot just to the SE of K3 in Storm Peaks. Refer shots below.

One blast from my old friend http://www.wowhead.com/item=122124/darkmoon-cannon and one trusty http://www.wowhead.com/item=109076/goblin-glider-kit and you're on your way!
WoWScrnShot_101617_083918.jpg

It almost takes you straight into the entrance - felt a bit like some Star Wars landing scene :p
WoWScrnShot_101617_083934.jpg

It's a bit of a ghost town. Oh, the blue teleporter you can see doesn't work and the green one takes you out to the ground and you can't get back in from there :(
WoWScrnShot_101617_084051.jpg

Off to do some more exploring...... ;)
[doublepost=1508241709,1508115556][/doublepost]Voltarus was next on the list. Unable to get there simply by jumping and glider. You do need the cannon blast to get around the corner and into the entrance. To get to the top of the mountain, just use a nearby mob to kill you and rez higher up the mountain :p

Still, I did have enough time to chat to the prisoners :D
WoWScrnShot_101717_193529.jpg

But not too long after the locals opened up a can of whoop a$$ and I ended up rez'ing back down on the ground :(
