US HFC Class Trinket Farm Proposition

Zniper

Grandfathered
Due to the terrible drop rate that they have now, my idea is this:

A rotating group of people doing only the last two bosses, with as many of the same class in the raid as we can organize internally and pull from LFG. For instance, my fire mage, and a raid full of other mages with the loot table set to personal and the specialization set to fire. After this, I would log my DK max level toon and contribute to a DK twink. And then my druid and so forth. If the item drops in the raid from non-bonus rolls, it can be traded. We could cobble together some sort of DKP system based on how much you help every week.

It's just an idea in it's inception, if we have even 10-15 people participate, it wouldn't be terribly hard to pull bored/curious people from LFG and bend them to our will. At a certain point, none of use would need anything except the mount.

Let me know what you think of feasibility or tips to make it work.

You should be able to 3-5 man with the correct comp but good idea. Although I though they were fixed in 7.2.5 and fully taken off loot table. This was most likely implemented at 1% to give people a chance to get for leveling as blizzard obviously knew these were still good. Now that time has passed they have taken them out as not a lot of those "go-getter" players leveled their toons. Just a theory

The drops rates are known and listed on Wowhead, but no where near 1%. The highest is like 0.62% and the lowest is iirc 0.12%. I saw nothing in any Legion Patch Notes regarding them being removed entirely.

Right, the minimum to complete is not the point here, I run it weekly with around 7-10 Pugs, but to realistically swing the odds in your favor you'd need a raid of 36+ of your desired class. My point is WE as a community could quickly and repeatedly provide the backbone to pull bored members out of LFG who are looking for a one-shot quick chance for the mount.

Sounds like once the people who showed up to the most and have the most dkp get theirs, they will stop coming. Not just that, how will that person who wins the trinket feel they have to give it up. Just cause they didn't show up for one week say. Sounds a little extreme to me.

I'm not calling you out or saying this is what you will do, but doing stuff like this always hints to someone wanting something, and stepping over many people to get it. Like streamers use their popularity to get items from helpless followers.

But yea, even if this takes off, it comes down to this. week 1, say 20 people show up. Now week 2 another 10 random people show up interested. All 10 of those people, even if they make a raid every week, and those 20 original don't miss any, all 20 of the first people have to get theirs before those 10 do. Just cuz they missed 1 week. You will have people drop like flies and realizing 1 drops every 3 weeks according to %'s

if no trinkets drop in a mixed group, would it really increase the chance to have a single class group?

I'd be down to do this. I have a 101 paladin, DK, and hunter. I can also contribute on a 110 mage, DH, and rogue. Unfortunately my best geared 110s are also a DK and paladin so I can't take them along.

I'd been down horde US side. 101 boomie and 101 hunter

Why does no one roll a mage. I think they have more damage output than boomies and with boomies saying for themselves they don't need leech and a mage over 20% doesn't need any more than that, and not having to sacrifice damage for leech, I don't see why more don't roll... I think druids are just so versatile with shifts that no one even considers to be honost. Yet with barrage giving boost for 5 seconds and 2 blinks mages are literally just as fast. Yea we can't swim fast, but God made swim speed potions for a reason

Sure, I get what your saying, but the key to this is there are ALOT of (non-twink) people running Mythic HFC for the mount only. once a backbone of people is established for the kill, the majority of the theoretical people in raid would give two sh*ts about a trinket that is unusable to them. So there isn't really a "give it up" moment for the people who will most likely be winning it. In a raid built of half dk's and half mages, only two of each class would be 101, savy?

I considered it. I decided on a lock instead since I wanted to ipvp with him and, at the time, I was having more fun on my aff lock than my fire mage (January-ish). My lock stopped at 99 to farm 99 boes and I haven't moved him to 101 since lol

I personally would never level a twink to make a new twink, but that's your call friend. But as you know, you can't go back. And a hypothetical situation being is they nerf 101s and 99s stay relevent, maybe people would switch over to 99s? Twinks are so up in the air the last few xpacks that I can't help recommend rerolling another one and saving your twinks. You never know!

I feel ya. I have a 70 paladin I played pretty extensively about 7 years ago. I just can't bring myself to level her even though I almost never play her anymore. My lock is still at 99 and I'll probably keep him there. I'm on your side when it comes to keeping characters the level they are. I don't want to have any regrets.
