Myself and Sponser (the only 10's I'm aware of that were made Mod) have only been so for what, 2 weeks now?

same emotes in posts
defending each other in every view they could have
liking each others posts within 10secs of posting
only ever posted in same minute when i called him out on double account
same sentence structure, grammar, vocabulary everything
same age
same general area of living

thats enough for me to say its same guy

Pretty amusing.

Honestly, I don't know much about DeLindsay. Nor am I them.

But that's pretty funny the similarities, though.

Edit: Looking at their profile, it doesn't give their age. Does not specify anything more on location than that we are in the same country. I'm not even sure we are the same gender..

ROFL, I'm 41 dude, more than twice the age of most of the Members on this Forum. And I live in Texas but have lived in Kansas, Colorado and California so my "local dialect" varies from mood to mood.

Well, you'd be right to say that I'm not 41.

I'm 27, and I live in Maine.

Though I will say, San Antonio is one of my favorite places to visit, and I'm a lifelong Cowboys fan...So?

Who knows!

I like it here a lot! I'm from Massachusetts originally.

thanks for showing me how clueless you are, thinking the toxicity would exist within team-mates.

although every pvp guild ive been part of has been toxic as hell, dont get me started on pve guilds with their constant bickering over meters and crying over being benched for progression raids

the toxicity i was referring to was between teams, making competition more exciting knowing people want to win for more than just the prize money

but thanks cutie

also every tbc premade i was part of that got setup on EU was strictly due to forum bashing, like 99% of all twink premades of that era.

twinking probably wouldnt have survived the xp lock if all twinks were in it to kill levellers and didnt have the taste of premades for bragging rights

but go ahead, you know everything about twinking or pvp communities.

I can tell you right now that "top PvE" guilds don't put up with that kind sh!t from it's members. It is considered a privilege to belong to a "top PvE" guild. They do you a favor by allowing you to join them. They don't have to issue you a /ginvite.
We would literally have people fill out applications to become part of the "top PvE" guilds that I belonged to. And if, and I mean IF, those few that were accepted they then had to try out before they were even given a /ginvite. Before that we would actually vote before allowing people join.
Discipline is a must in a top tier PvE guild if you want to maintain a decorum of civility. If we had any "toxic" members giving the guild a bad name they would be given a warning to "shape up or be shipped out." Second time = /gkick
Meters were unacceptable in raids. GM and class/role officers decided on who went on progression raids based on metrics from online sources. Some DPS roles were given certain "assignments". Naturally, they would have less DPS than other DPS that were single targeting boss the entire time.
Don't like sitting on the bench this week so someone else can go and the guild can have a better shot at getting a boss down? You are more than welcome to /gquit and find another guild better than ours. Guess what? Very few people left. They knew what was best for their interests.

/cheers

what kind of vanilla world do you live in, ofc theres toxicity in high end pve guilds as well, perhaps not between guild members but certainly between guilds, just look at method and serenity(before they disbanded ofc)

Next time you go to San Antonio you should go check out the basement of the Alamo.

Didn't state between guilds.

wtf is that supposed to mean

Didn't read your last sentence. It has been edited.

The only thing wrong with the moderation right now is the fact that @Mvq hasn't been permanently banned yet. You're acting like a petulant child. Also @ifurreadingthisitstoolate has just openly admitted to ban evading, so ban him too. Also there are still plenty of purely toxic posters left on the forums even after that big "New Era" thread saying they'd be removed.

In short the mods aren't being strict enough.

Nah...
He doesn't deserve a perma ban. He is just having fun like the rest of us. You guys take this stuff too personal.

/cheers

Exactly. I haven't been in such since WoTLK, but I raided on a top level from from Vanilla, BC, and WoTLK.

You don't just happen into guilds like Exodus, Vodka, Method, Blood Legion, etc. And they certainly don't like seeing people acting like idiots while wearing their guild tag. Guilds don't nail server/world firsts by being a bunch of immature trolls who are against the idea of helping others and a friendly environment.

Then again, I'm surprised these posts by you and I aren't getting the PVE haters for goin on how "scripted encounters, bro, wheres ur glad?".

Well, it looks like I have a lot to address here. Lets begin with the OP...

When does the power trip end?

This has absolutely nothing to do with a power trip. It's a forum for a twink community. We literally have no power outside of this website, and I wouldn't hardly refer to that as any sort of "power" whatsoever. The issue lies in the fact that my "New Era" goals were not made clearly enough, and have been taken way out of hand. Although I am not the one enforcing the rules, I still take the blame because I set them in place and they were obviously misunderstood, at least that seems to be the case in most of these recent situations.

Indeed. The fact that 4 Threads complaining about Selaya has been locked by Selaya with no explanation seems laughable.

The fact that you made FOUR threads complaining about Selaya is beyond laughable.

I do personally think that things are going to shit on this site, the main focus of the site is being lost, and many veteran players like myself use it less and less as a result.

You wouldn't have the slightest clue as to what's going on with the site at all, much less be able to make a valid judgement that it is "going to shit". I will gladly post a screenshot of your logins and activity for the last 6 months. It's virtually non-existent. FYI, the site is doing just as well, if not better, than it was almost a year ago. That is taken from actual statistics and my own observation (empirical data, not just merely an "opinion") and I assure you, I observe the activity on this site far more than you or anyone else here. Just because I don't speak very often doesn't mean I'm not paying attention.

I think it's lame that these new faces feel like they have to impose themselves on so many old heads.

What new faces? The only "new" people on the staff are DeLindsay and Sponsor, and they aren't new to the site. They've been around longer than I have. Again, shows how much you're really paying attention.

Comes down to the administration not being able to properly judge who deserves staff positions. There are mods who have shown over and over that they cannot handle having a few extra permissions on the forums yet nothing is done about it.

How many Moderator applications do you think we've received? (I'll give you a hint: not many). And out of those few applications, how many of them do you think were even close to viable prospects? (I'll give you another hint: even less). I know that some of my staff members have been getting a bit out of hand with carrying out their duties; I'm not denying that at all. But again, they are not entirely to blame here because I have obviously failed somehow in making my goals clear. Blame it all on me if you wish. I'm a responsible adult human being and I have no problem whatsoever in accepting my faults and shortcomings
.

Being a dick and talking shit is a part of the game, simply put, especially being twinks.

That's a rather ridiculous statement, to say the least. This is not a virtual world we're living in here, there are actual people behind these computer screens. Being toxic is not a quality of twinking. If that were actually the case, I wouldn't want anything to do with it, especially not at the level of my current involvement. If YOU like to be a dick and talk shit to people, that is a personal quality. Not everyone acts in that way, not even in this community. The person you are in the real world mirrors itself on these forums, simple as that. Don't throw the entire twink community in a toxic hand basket.

If you look at my original post, this is about the unnecessary use of power over regular posters by the new admins here, and my opinion about the current state of the site.

What new Admins? Again, shows how much you really pay attention. Spoiler alert: there are no new Admins.

people literally wasted money because you hyped them while hoping it makes xpoff.com more attractive - generating more money

Oh, yay! Here's another spoiler alert: This website does not "generate" ANY money. I pay for EVERYTHING out my own pocket. Could it generate money? Sure. Why doesn't it? Because I choose not to treat this community as livestock, because I am a decent minded human being who has morals and values. I do not get paid to do this, I PAY to do it.

i know getting triggered by nearly everything is super hip in 2017, however it wont help you

Who in their right mind would think that being triggered is "hip"? That doesn't make the slightest bit of sense. I think what you meant to say was: "Going out of your way to trigger people just for the Lulz is super hip in 2017".

After being on this site for so long you should know drama is a part of twinking to keep things fun/exciting and it includes being toxic to each other

Here's another example of personal qualities. Character is consistent. In addition, if you want drama for the sake of entertainment, buy a television. There's plenty of drama to be found on that wretched thing.

The new admins want to be the government.

I believe I've already addressed the whole "new Admin" thing, so I won't point out that mistake again. But the fact that you think we're trying to "be the government"... what does that even mean? Seems like you're just saying things without any real thought or meaning attached to them. It's a forum, not a government. Those two things are no where NEAR comparison.

not to be rude but who the fk actually wants to advertise this site in-game, thats the dumbest thing ive seen in a while

That is exactly the sort of community support that we need. Much appreciated. [insert sarcasm here]

I simply don't think the new admins act in a responsible manner.

I think I'm beginning to lose count...

Oh and I wrote kys to an admin right after my ban was expired and I'm still not banned for that and in fact 15+ people have done the same and are still not banned.

Which obviously implies that I've put a stop to it. You complained because it happened, now you're complaining because it ISN'T happening. I'm through trying to please you, it's evident that you just like to complain in general.

This question is directly towards the mods, but.. Do you guys have a specific forum area for mods alone that regulars can't see?

Yes, we do. We have several sections that are visible to only staff. However, it is only used for big projects on the site. We usually use my XPOFF Discord server for communication, as it also contains several text channels that are only visible to staff.

If Cops would arrest people based on their personal opinion we'd have a shitshow in real life.

This actually happens all the time, and we DO have a shitshow with real-life law enforcement. Not that this is at all relevant to anything whatsoever, just thought I'd point that out.

The ban was called out unnecessary, yet I wasn't unbanned. <- Issue #1.
Arkte states I did get unbanned. (which is a lie). <- Issue #2.

You're just going to keep going on and on about this in an attempt to make me look bad, so let me address that before it goes any further. I told the staff members that were involved in that case that the ban was unnecessary (you've already posted proof of that yourself, so there's no need for me to prove that). I asked for them to remove it, or at the very least reduce it to just a couple of days. They did not, and I was under the impression that they did. That's not a blatant lie, as you so claim. I was unaware that it had not been taken care of.

do ppl enjoy dead forums? Look at xpoff the last couple of weeks, hella lit
all i see is lvl 70 raids in 2017 and 101s selling gear

And yet another example of someone who doesn't pay a bit of attention to the site and who's only goal is to try and make it look bad, yet you're still here. Your information could not be any further from the truth, and I will gladly prove you wrong (publically) with actual evidence.

sadly idk if its possible to get a name change, id love to remove the qt

All you have to do is ask me and I will change it for you. If your avatar is an actual real life picture of you, it should be against the rules for you to have "qt" anywhere in your name.

toxicity breeds winners

Watch out, Ayn Rand; step aside, Nietzche - I've found myself a new favorite philosopher. [insert more sarcasm here]

Now that I've covered all of that, let me get to the point here...

First of all, let me inform all of you that I am not an owner of this site. I do not possess any ownership of the site whatsoever. Conq and Myrm are the owners. I am, however, the Head Administrator, and I am in charge of the site and ultimately responsible for it. With that being said, I take responsibility for the unnecessary bans and other actions that have been taken by my staff recently (even though I have yet to issue a single ban to anyone, ever). For those of you who are claiming that nothing is being done about it, you are wrong. I have addressed it, and for the most part it has stopped. There have been only a few (at the most) situations that have occurred since I addressed it. I'm not available 24/7 to hold my staffs' hands and ensure that they are carrying out their duties properly; and honestly I shouldn't have to. But again, this is all my fault, and I promise all of you that I will put a stop to it once and for all.

If you have an issue with another staff member or feel like you have been treated unfairly, I encourage all of you to at least TRY to talk matters over with the staff member who banned you or moderated your content, or whatever the issue may be. If that does not work, by all means, please contact me and I will look in to your issue with a completely unbiased state of mind. I am a very fair individual, and I believe in doing what's right. No matter what personal issues I may have with you, no matter how much I may dislike you - if I feel that one of my staff members is in the wrong, I will stand up for you and make whatever corrective action is needed. I believe I have failed a few times in the "taking action" part recently, but I will try my best not to fail again. Something you all need to keep in mind though, is that even if you are treated unfairly by a staff member, it does you no good to disrespect them. If they disrespect you, tell me, provide proof. I will deal with it. Do not take matters in to your own hands, because ultimately it makes you no better than they are, and only digs a deeper hole.

Read the Forum Rules and Etiquette, and follow it. As long as you do that, you'll be fine. My staff will be moderating based on that from now on. Nothing more, nothing less. So there should not be any issue as to why you were banned or why your content was moderated. If you feel like there is a flaw in my Rules and Etiquette, please point that out to the best of your ability, and if your point is valid in any way I will certainly take it in to consideration (meaningless attempts of obvious trolling will be ignored, so don't bother). I honestly don't believe that very many of you have even bothered to read the Forum Rules and Etiquette, much less comprehend and abide by it. If that is the case, I strongly recommend you do so now.

I will deal with the issues on my end, both with myself as well as with my staff. For now, all I can ask from the community is that you focus on yourselves. The community as a whole has a lot more to do with the direction the site is going than the staff alone. YOU are all what make this site what it is. We are only here to maintain it, and to keep things in order. I understand the issues the users are having with the recent moderation, and again, I will deal with it. BUT... as a final word - if you have no desire whatsoever to be a productive member of this community, you will eventually root yourself out of it, no matter what rules are set in place.
