Yeah, I am a bit confused with the "BiS Gear" debate. Some say that everything in BG's scales off of your ilvl, while others say they are useless. Not sure whether to keep the BiS gear equipped, or to use the gear with the better stats. It's complicated because I've noticed the stats cap out at a certain point in BG's, but the BiS gear doesn't seem to make any noticeable difference, at least not in a positive way. Perhaps someone could help clear this confusion for me? I like to equip the best possible thing in each slot to maximize my performance, and it's hard to figure that out because I'm not quite clear on how it works exactly. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Currently ilvl still effects your stats, only use your armor type for example plate for warriors only, gives 5% increase of stats

When you enter instanced PvP you are rewarded with a predetermined set of stats. The only way to boost these stats are by boosting your ilvl. At level 19 you need to boost your ilvl beyond 41 to actually see a difference in your stats. I recommend downloading https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/dejacharacterstats since that will allow you to see your ilvl in your character pane.

As Holythane said, you simply need to gather all the gear with the highest ilvl, things as http://www.wowhead.com/item=74918/problem-solving-pendant and http://www.wowhead.com/item=7337/the-rock will give you a good boost together with AGM. Apart from these items, you can now, during the prepatch demon invasion get gear from doing said invasions. The normal gear from these invasions will only have 24 ilvl, and won't give you that much of an ilvl boost, but there is a chance that the gear will be Warforged and be 34 ilvl, making it BiS. Bear in mind that atm it can also proc Warforged that will however not give you any ilvl or stat changes from the usual invasion gear, so it's all about that rng!

Good luck!

I am already using The Rock x2 and Problem Solving Pendant. My Feet, Chest, and Weapon slots are lvl 27, the rest are 24. Currently my item level is only 37. I'm not sure what else to do to get it much higher than that. I'm doing 2-3 Invasions a day and haven't gotten anything above 27. Also I'm having trouble deciding what enchants are best for each slot, since it seems like some of them don't have any effect in Battlegrounds. Thanks for the help. Haven't played since WotLK and twinking is just not the same anymore. I still enjoy it, I'm just trying to learn the system. Any other advice is welcome and appreciated.

No enchants work in instanced PvP anymore. And all you can do to boost your ilvl is to get the Warforged invasion gear and/or http://www.wowhead.com/item=18854/insignia-of-the-alliance, http://www.wowhead.com/item=19024/arena-grand-master and http://www.wowhead.com/item=19979/hook-of-the-master-angler

I'm not sure that's entirely true. My crusader still procs periodically in BG's, though not quite as often as it does outside of them. Also I notice a difference in stats with some enchanted items versus the same exact item with no enchants. It just doesn't seem to be the case with all of them. It's quite confusing, really. Who knows, maybe they'll change it all up again after Legion drops.

Would love a Screenshot of you in a BG with a Crusader proc :)

By the way, in response to the trinkets you suggested, you can't get the Insignia anymore. It's grandfathered. So I'm not sure why you even listed that. The other two are extremely difficult to get, so none of that is very practical. I am currently using 2x engineering trinkets, it's the best I can find for now. Also changed my weapon to Emil's Brand, which bumped my ilvl a bit. Still haven't reached 41, though. My options seem to be running very thin.

Well it was just in case you had the insignia. And the fishing trinket is not possible to get now since the Fishing Tournament is on hiatus until Legion, but when it comes back it should be doable! Same with AGM, you can even start today. I never said it was east, I merely suggested items you could use to boost your ilvl.

And btw afaik Emil's Brand is worse than BoA axe because of weapon speed. As a warrior you want the slowest weapon possible, even if that mean using a lower ilvl weapon.

And btw I would still very much like to see some screenshots of crusader procs in BG's :)

Well I'm not the type of person that can't admit when he's wrong, so I will admit that you were right about the enchants not working in instanced PvP. I've actually made an extended effort to look for the signs, and to no avail. And of course in this particular case, no Crusader proc. =/
I do remember seeing it proc in the past, though I suppose that was before the last patch. Anyway, you were right, I was wrong. With that being said, I have some questions.
1.What is AGM?
2.How do suppose the fishing tournament trinket is practical? I have a friend who's went through great lengths to get it for the last 8 years, and hasn't had any luck with it.
3. What is BoA Axe?
4. Why is a slower weapon better for an arms warrior, compared to a weapon with a higher item level? I'm not saying you're wrong at all, I just need help understanding the logic behind a slower weapon being a good thing in the first place.

Again, thanks for all your help. This stuff has changed tremendously since WotLK, so it's all new to me. Sorry for my lameness.

I just realized that AGM is Arena Grand Master. I tried to edit my post to remove that question, but I'm having serious issues with getting prompted with the "You must log in to do that" notification. I'm not sure why it continues to happen, but it's really annoying.
Anyway, I am working on getting that right now, but it's not easy at all. A work in progress.

1. You already figured; Arena Grand Master
2. The ilvl on Hook of the Master Angler is the highest for any trinket in the 10-19 bracket. It should be doable if you're either on a low pop server, or if you get help from someone with 2 seater flying mount. You just have to be the 1st, 2nd or 3rd to turn in 40 Tastyfish on your server.
3. BoA = Binds on Account = Heirloom. And this is the axe: http://www.wowhead.com/item=122349
4. Because the dmg of many of your abilties are based on your weapon speed -> Slower weapon speed -> more dmg.

i will be updating soon. sorry i haven't been up to date with this. i'm doing bis wod gear and bis legion gear.
