Legion Invasions Take Much Longer

I've been noticing that Invasions take a bit longer than they usually do, due to people finally wisening up to the process of XP farming Invasions. I don't know if they are longer in all zones, but they are definitely longer in lowbie zones such as Dun Morogh, Azshara, and Northern Barrens ( places with nearby Rested areas for easy logging out). For those unfamiliar with Invasion XP Farming here's how it goes:

1. Type 1 in chat for invite to group for mass tagging and +group XP bonus.
2. Tag as many mobs as possible through stage 1 and 2.
3. Get to a rested area and log out.
4. Log Back In.
5. Rinse and Repeat.

This leads to a much longer stage 3 and Final Stage, where there are considerably less players to clear all the mobs. Is anyone else having similar experiences? And which zone is best for straight-up AFK box farming?

Also: People are claiming that Stage 3 gives a lot of XP. While true, I would say it's a net loss of XP/minute. The primary loss of efficiency is A. Travel Time, B. Kill Time. Travel time is a massive loss of XP/minute, anyone who is familiar with Leveling Times would know that for a fact. Even with a flying mount, it is a pain to travel to Boss mobs and either: 1. miss the fight or 2. be the only one there. Kill Time is a major issue as well, as many players leave after Stage 2, so it becomes difficult to kill large boss mobs efficiently.

Best places for AFK-farm is probably Northern Barrens and Azshara (Horde), or Dun Morogh and Westfall (Alliance) since those are close to Org/IF/SW - aka avoid Tanaris and Hillsbrad.

If you're not AFK-farming you should search for groups at higher stages through the group finder-tool.

oh yeah I've definitely noticed it takes longer. I've also noticed a couple of invasions resetting after stage 2. Not sure why but thought maybe it was because so many left after stage 2 it caused it to reset. ~shrugs~ This has only happened a few times tho.

You can use a second account to speed things up. When I've been farming I use my f2p to get progress going on the next one. Helps if you're mainly farming Large boxes too.

You might need a level 10 to zone yourself into the invasion, but CRZ is determined by who's already in the zone now instead of level.

Start Barrens on second account, when it gets close to stage 2 (or 4), invite them with your twink and then go to the zone. Once your twink is in Barrens, move your alt to Azshara to get that started. Depending on timing (if your alt is on early Stage 3 when you finish Barrens), you can leave group and zone into Azshara to get a Stage 2 box on your twink, then zone back out and group with your alt to pick up that invasion in time for Stage 4.

Stage 3 has been especially slow with everyone bailing for XP, helps speed those along.

Yep. 30 min +
Shame for us and good for them.

Took me an hour to do azshara.. Remind me to not go back there again. too convenient for lazy levelers to jump into

Took me more than 90 minutes to do Azshara.. Was AFK and when I went to OG gates, I found that only 2 ppl were in invasion zone...

Awesome advice, thanks

I really wish they had nerfed the xp gain completely. Im getting screwed when 60% of the invasion players leave after the 2nd stage

Tanaris has to be the best place to farm, since most lowbies and lazy players wont feel like going way out there.

And you can also 2-3 shot the final boss with bombs near Gadgetzhan at low lvl

Has anyone tried just logging after the 2nd one completes and then logging back just to get stage 2 boxes? Would be way more efficient

US invasions are incredibly slow atm, was able to do 3 invasions on EU in the time it took to complete 1 on US

Doesn't work. Only 2 boxes per invasion location. If you log back in and do stage 2, you don't get rewarded xp or the box.
