Bump. I just hit 60 and I'm really enjoying the game with these rules. Retail feels like an actual MMORPG for once, and there's a great sense of community in the guild. +1

MoP timewalking is up right now, so you could start farming badges already. I believe the Horde Expedition commendation gives 250 rep with all the sub-factions, so you can calculate how many badges you'll need to get them all to exalted.

There's a once-per-event quest that gives you 500 Timewarped Badges, so start by doing that on as many characters as possible. Other than that, just keep running dungeons. http://www.wowhead.com/timewalking

Commendation of the Horde Expedition from wrath timewalking will give you rep with all of them.

Plus you could just make a rule for the maximum allowed ilvl if it's really that big a deal to you.

This is not entirely true. Any buffs applied before entering a BG will still work after entering.
